Hi,
We have a requirement that we need to populate a consolidation and make it uneditable, however users should have the write access on its child members. I think of Hold functionality in Perspectives or in CAFE, but is it possible to meet the requirement via TI on the back-end ? I'm not very familiar with Data Reservation, but can it be a solution ?
Thanks for your ideas
Cheers

Hello,
You can grant 'READ' access to consolidation in }ElementSecurity cube (or using Right click on dimension, Security). Also, you can use ElementSecurityPut TI function.

Re: Hold consolidation via TI
Do you need to maintain the values at the consolidated level because you are talking about a hold functionality ?

Yes, they should not be changed by BU, while all leaf members can be changed.Wim Gielis wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2017 3:29 pm Do you need to maintain the values at the consolidated level because you are talking about a hold functionality ?

Re: Hold consolidation via TI
Thanks Elessar for your suggestion, it means that if I have a TI to populate the consolidation, the process have to change the access to "WRITE" first, then put the data, and in the end change the access back to "READ".
But what if I use rules to populate the consolidation ?

hittony,
I think I didn't understand you right. What do you mean by "populate the consolidation"? A screenshot would be useful
