Re: General PALO Questions
Admin Note: This topic has been split from the original thread since it had nothing to do with the release of free PALO manuals.

You'll note a number of things there, such as:
(a) A number of pharmaceutical companies and superannuation companies seem to have deployed it, but as I said it's a general purpose tool and that doesn't imply that it's in some way oriented toward such companies;
(b) The customers listed seem to be weighted heavily toward Europe, which is understandable given that Jedox is German-based. (I may get yelled at for saying this, but IMHO the fact that support is available Monday to Friday in German time only still serves as a barrier (albeit not an insurmountable one) to serious deployment of PALO in foreign timezones, particularly one such as ours. (It's 1am in Berlin as I write this);
(c) One name that I was a little surprised to see on the customer list is "IBM (USA)", but this may be the "keep your friends close, and your enemies even closer" principle in action.
Actually I count two questions in three bullet points, but PALO is capable of handling that level of mathematical accuracy.sreenivas wrote: I am very new to this forum.

As with TM1 PALO is a general purpose tool. It's therefore not limited to any specific industry. I know of at least one consultant who has deployed it into the retail sector quite successfully, but as always it's best to go to the vendor web site to get that kind of information:sreenivas wrote:1. Not as many as for TM1, it may be assumed, given that TM1 is acquiring a much broader market base following Cognos integration. Obviously the best place to look for this is your local leading on-line jobs search engine. In Australia, the #1 site returned only one hit for "Palo", and that was in fact referring to the corporate headquarters in Palo Alto. The #2 site returned nothing. "TM1" returned 163 hits. But again, that's because IMHO the timezone / support issue is an impediment to widespread use of Palo down here; it may be different where you are.sreenivas wrote:2.
