This week Jedox have released the 5.1 version of their BI and PM suite.
New features include:
Data driven modeling – a wizard driven approach to cube building similar to the Cognos Insight feature.
Extended planning features – like cell locking (similar to cell holds in TM1), a splashing wizard (until now you could only use splashing/data spreading by typing splashing commands) and data validation lists (comparable with TM1 picklists, but more based on the Excel data validation features).
New redesigned ETL Manager – new interface.
R-integration – in my opinion this is the most noticeable feature of this release, allowing read/write integration between Jedox Suite and the R statistics program
Other new features include multi-core improvements and charting improvements (like combining charts and extended color selection capabilities).
Nice is the introduction of a ‘Feature Voting Tool’, where Jedox users can vote on their preferred new features in future releases. I guess I’m going to vote for server side zero suppression, which is still missing in the current release...
