PA upgrade & TM1Web reports not working

Post by jed » Mon Sep 02, 2019 1:15 am

We are planning our upgrade to PA (from 10.2.2) and our biggest issue appears to be existing TM1Web reports that no longer work under PA.

Any tips for things that just don't work in TM1Web under PA?
In particular none of our existing charts appear to work on reports in TM1Web.

Our upgrade testing is with PA 2.0.7.

Hi Jed

We have Charts that are working in TM1 Web on Planning Analytics 2.0.5. We upgraded from 10.1.1 so that was an even more radical upgrade than from 10.2.

You might want to try running the workbook upgrade utility again. We found that it does not always work. We also found that it does more than it says. It was over a year since we upgraded, but I think the upgrade utility was mainly about the Action Buttons, but It definitely changes other things as well.

If that doesn't cure the problem, you first port of call might be to display the data underlying the chart to verify that this is being retrieved correctly.

Thanks Paul, please enlighten me as to what
workbook upgrade utility
is? We are not moving to PAx or PAW just upgrading to PA 2.07.

Hi Jed

In Server Explorer, go to the Applications folders, right click on a folder, and select Convert Excel files to Open XML format. In theory this converts old xls to xlsx, but in practice it does other things as well that might cure your issue. It does operate on xlsx files even though the documentation says that it only works on xlsx files. In our case it fixed some ranges, etc.

ok thanks...thought it might have been something fancy. Unfortunately this does not fix our problem.
