Re: RAM difference between cube and instance

You're right about the garbage memory. If I turn on Performance Monitor, I get the following measures: Memory Used : 29 594 Mo Memory in Garbage : 13 403 Mo TM1 operations guide defines Memory in Garbage this way: "TM1 does not release memory back to the operating system while the TM1 server is runn...

RAM difference between cube and instance

Hi, I have an instance where the main cube takes 15 356 Mo in RAM when I have a look at the size in Perspectives Server Explorer. (The following biggest cube takes only 26 Mo in RAM.) When I have a look at the RAM taken by the instance directly on the server, in the Task Manager or in the Process Ex...

I don't agree with you. A save data does not clear the cache if there is no entry in the cube.

Re: Where clause in MDX statement

@lotsa, Catherine's using ODBO, so there's no 'file' to find an EOF in. But I did see her post which said performance was poor, reading - maybe - a couple of hundred strings? _Why_ is ODBO so cr^p? ODBO is not that bad... The process is reading 216 000 lines, and it reads them twice because I have ...

Re: Where clause in MDX statement

Be wary of reading in passwords to synchronize between servers! The encrypted password string can (and often does) contain unprintable characters which are seen by TI as file terminators which will cause the TI to quit when a file containing such a character is encountered. Thank you ! I don't seem...

Re: Where clause in MDX statement

Should have been until the end of my test before posting...

It appears that the syntax "??ABC*" is accepted when saving the process, and the process runs without errors. BUT it doesn't bring me back the required elements...
It doesn't bring back any elements in fact...

Any ideas?

Re: Where clause in MDX statement

Sorry I found the answer myself :)
SELECT
CROSSJOIN(
{TM1FILTERBYPATTERN( {TM1SUBSETALL( [}Groups] )}, "??ABC*")}, {[}Clients].Members}
) ON ROWS,
{{[Group].Group},{[Group].UniqueID},{[Group].Password}} ON COLUMNS
FROM [ClientGroups]

Re: Where clause in MDX statement

Thank you for your quick answer. It does work and reduces significantly my process duration. Nevetheless, I do not look for group beginning with ABC but having ABC from third to sixth position. that's why I put SELECT CROSSJOIN( {TM1FILTERBYPATTERN( {TM1SUBSETALL( [}Groups] )}, " * ABC*")}, {[}Clien...

Where clause in MDX statement

Hi, I would need your help in writing a "where" clause in a mdx statement. Here is the context. I'm having a process reading data in another TM1 instance through an ODBO source. I'm reading some infomation in a cube called ClientGroups, containing 3 dimensions: }Clients, }Groups and Group (this last...

Try to play with VMM parameter in the }CubeProperties cube.
I once had the same problem as you and it solved it.

Re: ODBC with a 64 bit server

In terms of my server crash problem, after a lot of mucking around I tried unchecking the "Use Unicode" check box and low and behold it all came right. So for some reason the Oracle driver was tripping over the unicode. I met exactly the same problem (TM1 9.5.2 64bit Server on Windows 2008 x64 Serv...

Re: TM1 crashes using Citrix

I met the problem with a 9.4 TM1 version / Excel 2007 on Citrix. The exact circumstances of the crash were the following: -Connect to TM1 -Open a cube view -Navigate in the view -Close the cube viewerWITHOUT saving the view We got an Excel crash. The problem only occured when the view was not saved ...

Re: Tm1 perspective F9 calculation wierd behaviour

Hello, I met this problem with 9.4 version. To know if this is the same problem, try this workaround: Instead of using a reference to the TM1Rptview cell in your DBRW formula, just use a cell containing the cube nam (Instance:CubeName), and make your DBRW use this new cell. Does it work? If yes, it ...

Re: Rule to STET static version affecting calculations

It's quite simple really. Not allowing separate N and C rules means that when TM1 is scanning through the rule file (which it does every time you want to retrieve any numbers) and it finds a range that matches the cell value being requested (but not the type: N or C), it can stop scanning the rule ...

Re: Cognos TM1 and Report Studio - Member Caption definotion

Hi, First check that you have aliases on your dimension in TM1 in your production environment. If you do have aliases in TM1, then this is the package definition in Cognos Framework Manager that you need to change. In the package definition, once you have chosen your TM1 cube as a datasource, you ge...

1. The account used for the TM1ExcelServices is an administrator and therefore has the maximum leve...

Could you tell me more about that? Why is it not the best practice to have this parameter set to T ?
