Re: PAW on Linux better performance?

Just make sure you stay on RHEL 7, RHEL 8 doesn't support the free docker anymore.

(RHEL 8 is not supported by PA, though the supported software page did briefly state that it was. )

Re: TM1 rule subst with dimension element

I have seen issues with the compiler where if you mix a numeric test and a string test in the same conditional expression that it will give a false positive syntax error, it was a long time ago though.

i.e. If ( 1=2 & 'a'@='b' ,.... would fail to compile but If ( 'a'@='b' & 1=2 , ........... would

Re: PAX: TM1IOData Source still uses PMHUB for CognosOfficeAutomationObject.ExecuteFunction to run a TI

Hi John, Two questions I guess, neither of which I can answer... Why is the call failing? Is the call failing because you have turned PMHub off on the server? Are the parameters correct, if it was working in Café but not Pafe then I would guess so but it might not be safe assumption. I do remember w...

Re: Optimize While

Some testing you could do 1. The source with the 113770 records, how long does it take to export to a text file and does the text file just contain the records I think it should. 2. Activate different bits of the code to see where the performance hit is. If it is the while loop and there is no rule ...

Re: Optimize While

Maybe generalising the problem might help? I think you should probably be doing this with rules. Though you state you have already tried this and had an issue with the feeders, maybe your feeder was wrong? My target cube needs park information to do a simple calculation. As Lotsaram implied this doe...

Re: Quick Reports and MDX

It may have dropped off in later releases of PAfE...at one time you could change the MDX subset references to reference a hierarchy for example and I assume to any valid MDX. Pafe QuickReport.png I don't seem to be able to do it now though, which is a shame as it was one of the few ways you could ge...

Re: Quick Reports and MDX

I think that if you go onto the worksheet objects part of the PAfE task pane then there is some opportunity to interact with the definitions there.

Re: IBM License Metric Tool?

Hi, it depends on the licence you have, the best is to check with IBM or your re-seller / VAR. Broadly Enterprise is PVU based, Express is not. Don't make assumptions though, check and be sure as it can be costly if you get audited. [EDIT]Realised Macsir was talking about PAW not TM1...PAW is not li...

Re: Cube View Corruption

Hi, this refers to the Perspectives server explorer, on of the older clients. The PA for Excel client does no include this functionality (sadly) though I believe something similar is available from the export option in PAW. I think you can interrogate the contents of a view in PA for Excel by naviga...

Errr thanks....
So we could get 10%-20% improvement.

Jim, is your piece offering detail on Kamils "depending on many additional HW and SW factors" or are you putting doubt on the whole 10%-20%?

Hopefully we can at least say it won't be worse....

RAM Speeds

Hi,

Has anyone done any direct testing of RAM type / speed on the performance of TM1? DDR4-2933 is over twice as "fast" as DDR3-1333 for example. How does this translate into TM1 performance? Assume the motherboard etc changes as appropriate.

Any well informed views?

Re: Create elements based on a cubeview

You need to limit your datasource to just the element name and then use CellGetS to ElementDetails to lookup the other values you are after. i.e. Row 1 of your DS "Dimension", "Account","10-04-27" sParentElement= CellGetS ( 'ElementDetails' , vDimension , vAccount ,'ParentElement'); I think...it's n...

Re: Different rules for same element in different hierarchies

I don't think what you want to do is possible, the N level of a cube is common for all hierarchies.

C levels are different, same named C level members in different hierarchies are distinct members.

If you are using PA for Excel then (your opening posts looks like PA for Excel but later you say Perspectives) https://ibm.github.io/paxapi/#introduction If you are using Perspectives then you can write calls using the old API but it is much much more involved. You may find some good material with s...

Is there a way that I can mass edit the attributes of a dimension after the dimension been created already?
Use a TI process to with the a level zero subset of the dimension as a datasource and write the attribute to the dimension
or
use the DBSA formula to write the value from Excel

Is it possible that your "confusing" Excel and the TM1 client?

Your worksheet change macro does not include disabling of events and so could be getting triggered multiple times.
