Re: RunProcess and Process Ends msg

I'm starting to think that a sqllite instance to store the flags with guaranteed read / write might be better at large scale. I find this idea quite interesting. But in exactly the kind of scenario where immediacy of file writes might be problemantic with lots of multi-threadig and dozens of TIs ru...

Re: Can we maintain a empty tm1 dimension

I have a scenario like, a ti process is used to create, insert and delete elements in the dimension, it is behaving normal except for the last element of the dimension. It is creating a dimension and adding the elements in the dimension through ti process and deleting as well. But it is not deleting...

Re: RunProcess and Process Ends msg

I second Declan's suggestion. File based semaphores are really the only way to go when running processes on independent threads. Reading a cell value (or attribute value) is vey tricky to get right because of TM1's commit model and which version of the data your monitoring process is rteading versus...

Re: Using TI to recreate a dimension changes not being picked up

What you’re saying really doesn’t make sense. Any piece of code will do exactly what it has been programmed to do. So either there’s a mistake in your code, or the file isn’t being updated when you think it is or like you think it should have been, or the process isn’t running when you think it is. ...

Re: Multiple Cubes vs One Cube

I also use this idea of the 'dummy element' too but we were discussing the other day about the idea of having this 'dummy element' alone in an alternative hierarchy, does anyone know if it'll be better for the performance of the model? How can we measure/see the impact of both approaches? It won't ...

Bedrock v2 is at least 6 years old.
All I can say is that every effort was made to maintain backwards compatibility between v3 & v2.

Anyone still using v2 ... really shouldn't be.

Re: Working with dimension Leaves

To delete a leaf element from all hierarchies you delete it from the Leaves hierarchy. e.g. HierarchyElementDelete( sDim, sHier, sEle ); Deletes the element from not only the Leaves hierarchy but also the same named hierarchy and any other hierarchies in which the element exists. This is because lea...

Re: Question about formatting rule calculated cells in TM1

The documentation explains it. To ensure that TM1 applies the format for the cube measures, position the dimension containing the measures as the bottommost column dimension. TM1 first checks the elements in the column dimension for display formats. If dimensions are stacked, TM1 checks from the bot...

Re: MDX View with Hierarchy on }ElementAttributes cube as TI Data Source

The problem with having the hierarchy or ElementAttributes on columns is that you then have a variable number of columns coming in to the TI. I want to create something re-usuable so it can be used against any dimension hierarchy all of which can have different numbers of attributes. So I want to s...

Re: MDX View with Hierarchy on }ElementAttributes cube as TI Data Source

Sorry but I don't understand what isn't working with ViewCreateByMDX. Surely there you can put the hierarchy on rows or columns (whichever you like) and the attributes likewise. As long as you have a hierachy on axis 0 then the MDX is OK and there shouldn't be an issue?! Even if there is some issue ...

Re: Attrput and ElementAttributes Cube

For sure sometimes the error message returns can be misleading. If using AttrPutS to an alias and the string is the same as the principal name then the value won't be stored, versus with CellPutS it will be. I guess this was benefoicial in the bad old 32 bit days where every byte of memory was preci...

I think you misunderstand what DimensionAttrS is for. This is really for retrieving attributes of the dimension (typically only ever Caption). This is not for element attributes!

Re: Leading zeros in AsciiOutPut being dropped

I'm pretty sure Wim is correct and this is just Excel trying to be "helpful" by converting anything that looks like a number into a number. This is decidedly unhelpful when dealing with date strings and account numbers. If you open in notepad you can verify pretty easily that the account numbers are...

So would I put a number of RunProcess statements in one TI master process and just run the master process. So would they all run at the same time? Unfortunately there is no ISNUMBER function so you will need do your own tests.
No there isn't. But if you don't want to iterate the string character by character testing for a number or decimal then probably the closest you can get is
IF( sValue @= NumberToString( Numbr( sValue ) )
