Re: Add Files to Application via process or vba

Do you mean create a folder and add a file to it from Excel? Then the answer is yes - probably best to google some excel VBA sites for the code for this.

Re: Disk Space on Live Server

Lee, It's possibly the windows swap file. If TM1 uses the RAM up, it will effectively start using the physical swap file as memory. This could rapidly fill up the available disk space. If this is the case it means your TM1 database is using all the available RAM, so two things: more RAM if possible,...

Re: Disk Space on Live Server

Hi Lee, Two-three days to transfer the server and data from one drive to another sounds like a lot of time. I'd reckon on c10 minutes for under 2gb (to be on the generous side), without testing. Also, have you checked your log files? If your server has been running for any length of time, and you ha...

Re: Stopping TM1 services

As an alternative to the batch file, SyncbackSE from http://www.2brightsparks.com/ is a free and extremely useful sync and backup utility, which has the ability to run the net stops and starts within it, as well as a host of other things. I think it may have been recommended by someone in the old Ap...

Re: Best Practice: XRate Retreival

Or you can scrape the values from an exchange rate web page into Excel and then either run code to upload the results directly to your exchange cube, or save a text file for TI to upload. A simple version that works well is at http://petko.bossakov.eu/category/in-english/ (page down a bit), or for d...

Re: Gmail tip

For those users using Outlook the RSS feeds and the grouping by subject works fairly well. It does tend to seperate the post from the replies, but it will group the replies together. This is a good alternative for those of us who cannot access gmail from work. I don't know your company policy, but ...

Also does anybody know how to edit the menus at the side? In the wiki versions I have used they are pages that can be editied but I can't find them in this version. I guess it would make sense to have product links at the side with a cascading menu. (Something wiki does very well.) I believe you ca...

Hi Ajay,

Here's a interesting (for certain values of interesting) link to a Microsoft KB that illuminates the auto recalc behaviour in Excel: http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... us;Q214395 which should be of help.

Re: Welcome along

I agree - let's stick with this one. It has a nice feel, and it seems to work well covering muliple OLAP tools. One issue: unless people sign their posts, either manually or with a sig, then email versions of the posts don't say who it is who's made the post. This can get confusing with multiple rep...

Re: Wiki tools

I'd have thought Mediawiki or Tikkiwiki would be the front runners - both are PHP and use MySql as the backend, with the option of Postgres.
