Re: TM1 Perspectives support for Office 365 & Excel 2019

Hi all, Apologies if this is a dumb question, but wanted to check if anyone has been able to get TM1 Perspectives to work with Office 365 & Excel 2019? i.e. I know the (current) official word from IBM is that Perspectives would only be supported up to XL 2016, Until testing is done, according to th...

Re: Local Backup

In terms of the Enterprise solutions; last time I checked the default comes with 64gb of RAM and 200gb of disk space included in the user licence pricing. 200 gig does seem more reasonable than 2 for anything serious. It's still squeezy with big data, but it's viable. Then with regards to the disk ...

Re: Local Backup

No idea how IBM charges for storage, or even if. Anybody know? At Enterprise level I think it'll be "how much can you afford"? It's "contact us for pricing", not unsurprisingly. In Australia for PA On Demand , it's $AU55.66 / month for each user plus $AU6.96 / month for each 2GB (yes, GIGAbyte) con...

Re: Local Backup

Indeed. But on IBM SaaS, you have to raise a ticket to get utilities like 7Zip installed. AFAIK, you don't have to 'install' 7-zip, it's available as standalone executable, so you just need to upload it to the tm1 server (any of the shared folders you have access to) and it should work. Unless you ...

Indeed. But on IBM SaaS, you have to raise a ticket to get utilities like 7Zip installed. It's good to hear from Emixam in the following post that it's not necessary for 7zip at least. Because if you did, I think we know how that would turn out: SAAS_SupportTicket.jpg This is Reason Number 427 in m...

But i dont have any chores scheduled in the instance
Do you happen to have a SaveTime parameter set in your server config file, which could amount to the same thing? (Which is why Declan said "ecc"; he didn't say it was the only possibility, just one possibility. As is this.)

Re: Local Backup

Insetad of 7-zip, I used PowerShell System.IO.Compression.FileSystem to perform the zipping. Alternatively you can use Powershell Compress-Archive cmdlet. All thee are available on Windows Server as long as PowerShell is not disabled. No installation of 3rd party software. True, but there is a down...

Re: Naming Conventions Elements

I try to avoid special characters in principal dimension element names but should I extend this to aliases? I prefer to, but I've become more relaxed about it in recent years. My theory is that if you're going to be doing automation operations (which is the main reason for avoiding the special char...

@Bakkone, must have missed this option, I did look, I'll look harder! You know how MS likes to make life easy for you! They haven't buried it more than a couple of levels deep. Options -> Proofing -> Auto Correct Options -> AutoFormat As You Type tab. I do actually find this option useful more ofte...

Re: About Forum Ranks And Voting

This has been left to lie fallow for too long, mainly because of a relative explosion in the number of people who were eligible to be voted upon in the last couple of years. It made the old manual process pretty much untenable. So as a wise man (it may have been me) once said, "When in doubt, write ...

Probably not a sticky but it may be worth a FAQ listing, so if anyone has anything to add or a different way of explaining it it would be more than welcome.

Re: How to get the element name from a hierarchy?

Looking at IBM's own documentation: https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSD29G_2.0.0/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.tm1_ref.2.0.0.doc/r_tm1_ref_wrk_elementfirst.html For this and some (but not all  ) of the new hierarchy functions, you need to specify the server name: ElementFirst("planning...

Clicking on a dimension in cube viewer does not show the subset editor, TM1 is "frozen" (No it isn't)

One side effect of this covid world is that a lot of people are working on smaller screens than they had in their office. Their office, which they are no longer in. Because they are at home. This has resulted in me replying to the umpteenth support request about the following issue. They open Server...

In both PAfe and perspectives version 2.0.43 / TM1 Build 11.5 I can see that =@DBRW causes the type over write back to fail, instead just ending up with the value you entered in the cell? Any ideas what release this was fixed in or does the defect still exist in the 2.0.9 series? I can't speak for ...

This may have been brought up before, so forgive me if that is the case. Looks like using RunProcess in a process executed by a scheduled or startup chore will crash the server. For which version? You have two specified in your profile. I have a bunch of scheduled chores which use RunProcess and I'...

Re: Consolidation sum error - negative weighting

Your clue is right here: PC Amount is 122,663.31 ( and when exported to Excel has 20 "0's) after PO Amount is same Net Commitment shows as 0.00000000014551915223 rather than 0.00 You get this effect if you have tiny decimal amounts way out on the horizon. If you're importing values, then round them ...
