Dynamic Subset and Contol Cube
Hi Everyone, I Just had a lapse of memory and forgot how to grab a date string from a control cube to insert into subset expression. eg: {[DateDim].[04/06/2010]:[DateDim].[09/06/2010]} and replace hard coded date with cell references Thought it was DB('Control', 'Date1', 'Date Measure') but it must ...

DBRW to merged cells
don't know if everyone's tried this already, but i was using a cube slice which had several repeated elements on rows that was later merged. before the cells on rows are merged, it was copied -> then paste special 'formulas' back onto the merged cells. dbrw's can then reference the row relative cell...

?TM1 Service > Startup T.I. (Not A Chore)

I'm trying to kick off some initialisation routines if the server goes down then re-starts (through services), and it can't
be a chore that runs periodically.

Re: 9.0 to 9.4 FP1 install procedures
the server was running 9.0 and the clients were on 8.1.8. we have a dev' box which was upgraded to 9.4 FP1 from 9.0 (SP3). when the client was being installed, the dialog box for uid/pwd for admin came up on FP1. i just put in mine and it worked fine. (unnecessary i thought..) booting up on 9.4 FP1 ...

9.0 to 9.4 FP1 install procedures
Hi, Does anyone have an install guide with some screen shots that I.T. can use to upgrade client/perspectives? 1 odd thing i noticed was for FP1 upgrade (after installing MR1), it asks for domain/user id, pwd !?! and if 'tm1p' was previously in the addin list in excel, it complains until you manuall...

Re: ? too many views
Thanks for your views ;) If that was the case, i imagine other contributing factors could be that when i ran process monitor, server mem was at 1.3Gb and it total is 2Gb (don't have the extra 1Gb switch put in by i.t. yet). largest dimension worksheet has 36,000 lines of elements and hierarchies wit...

? too many views
hi,
does 494 views create a problem? [156public, 338private]
i don't know if it's a coincidence, but when i'm logged in as me(most number of private views)
- i noticed a server crash after logout.
i've since created a different username and so far so good...
many thanks

empty cellset
is there something built in to adomd that checks if a query returns nothing?
similar to:- if rs.recordcount = 0 then ...
and if it has values, then drop into excel quickly like:- cells(1,1).copyfromrecordset()
thanks

total is about 12mins, what i don't understand is why the brakes go on after the first 3 seconds when it's already loaded most of the cubes in memory

it'd be great if someone can post a working sample with |pipes, string/num handler..

Re: How many people use TM1 with Citrix?
my citrix view is that users complain about the speed believing they're logging into tm1 when it's actually taking 10 minutes running the citrix login script. other times, they get a dud machine on the farm that's even slower. when they're lucky to get a good machine on the rotation and the keystrok...

Re: addin - tm1p error!
thanks all for the ideas and suggestions. 1st attempted the repair in the tm1 setup option but failed on "could not stop service().." addin - tm1p error!
some anomalies when adding perspectives in excel occurs, a dialog box appears with "active x cannot create object" and in another instance, windows installer dialog appears - i'm wondering if it has anything to do with automation [servers] that are missing some files.. has anyone come across somethi...
