Re: Sandboxes in Dynamic Reports?

Thanks Wim, much appreciated. Was in a bit of a brain dump mode there so didn't articulate well but the core issue I've got with it when I say I can't fix is to re-enable the menu key functionality rather than the specific use case of the special value. That's probably the most common example along ...

Re: Sandboxes in Dynamic Reports?

The biggies are covered above by lotsa. On a lesser scale, the following are user QoL issues off the top of my head that I find very annoying. I'll caveat first to say two things: - 1) Perspectives is tired and lacking by modern standards. PAx is heading in the right direction and will eventually be...

Re: Sandboxes in Dynamic Reports?

I literally came across this last week when doing some budget what-if scenarios. To my knowledge, PAx doesn't have native support for sandboxing in the same way Perspectives did by having a dropdown switch although I'd love to be proven wrong if anyone knows otherwise. If you export a sandbox based ...

MDX - FilterByPattern on Attributes

Someone asked me today how to pull a wildcard search against an attribute in MDX. I must be getting rusty (I blame Tableau and PowerBI) as this turned out to be a bit more long winded than I thought and I ended up sticking at the following rather obtuse statement - in this case returning Employees w...

TM1 Perm UK Guildford / Sheffield Role

I'm looking for a permanent role to work in my team with a heavy focus on TM1 based here in the UK in either Guildford or Sheffield so PM me if you're interested and I can point you to the job ad. It's a senior developer role with an expectation to spec and technically lead projects so both the tech...

Re: String Data Underneath ruled cells 10.2.2 FP6

Have you tried setting RulesOverwriteCellsOnLoad in the config? Seen this kind of behaviour with string data before in earlier versions and brought up the server with this on to purge the underlying data which worked fine (can't remember which version - possibly as far back as 9.5.2). Remember to tu...

Re: Help with intercube feeders

['3rd Quarter','Incentive']=C: The rule you have is calculating at a C (consolidated) level only so you will either need to feed the data beneath the consolidation in order for TM1 to recognise that the consolidation needs to be fed or make sure that there is data in one of the children. Is the C l...

Re: Editing code... your preferred way?

Remembering to press CTRL-C twice to copy text! Yes, it still catches me out... I'm forever pasting 'something else' because Architect refuses to let me have it on the first time of asking. Can't remember who first raised this so apologies for the lack of credit but if you roll the C on a Ctrl+C it...

Re: Dynamic Chart Title

Annoyingly not in 10.2.2.2 - 10.2.2.4 - had dynamic lookups for Product Group names mapped from string cube hierarchy points and had to go with the low tech option of putting the title in an Excel cell fitted to the graph floating above the graph. Doesn't look great but did the job - dynamic name ch...

Re: .blb and .rux files - maintenance

The TM1 server exclusively uses the .RUX files as the definitive source of rule statements. Any .BLB files are artifacts created by the client application (in this case performance modeller). Typically they store things like additional formatting details, etc... It is worth pointing out though inca...

I genuinely cannot let this one go. I've been a member of this forum and it's predecessor for over a decade and have not come down hard on a post until this point. The issue is that this is not the kind of query where someone has been dropped into a difficult situation looking for help or a particul...

Re: Unable to get value of the property 'split': object is null or undefined

We went from 10.2.2 SP2 to SP4 on our dev server just before Xmas and haven't seen any issues such as the clearing of cache however we strongly suggest to users that they access via Firefox / Chrome rather than IE as we've seen a number of random rendering issues with IE over SP1 / 2 / 4 cycle. Has ...

Removing "Export / Slice to Excel" option from Web

Been looking into removing this option for exactly the reasons found here.

My hopes aren't high but thought it would be worth a check to see if anyone has managed to find a workaround to bypass the classic "It's on the Roadmap!" response? Client is 10.2.2.

TIA

Re: View not visible after load server

Just a thought - do the 4 cubes share a dimension? May be that you are missing a common subset from one of the dimensions that is used in the views. Worth a quick check of the .sub files maybe. Yesterday I created a view of a cube where those views are not loaded. The file has been created in the fo...

I'd be interested to see how many of those that have selected one of the other options are not working as consultants? Re: Is Cognos TM1 getting better?

Yes for me - in my opinion it is absolutely getting better, especially in the back end. Never mind MTQ, remember the days before PI??? "Who's running something now?" was the phrase that used to make me shudder more than any other as the server locked for the 88th time that day. That wasn't all that ...

Re: Musings on CellGetN vs DB(...) performance in rules

So if it actually worked and Garry wasn't just having a bad dream, it sounds like it was a glitch that was specific to a particular service pack. Either that or it's something from way back in version 8-land, but Garry indicated that it was fresh code rather than something that was dug out of an an...

Re: TI process to update Approval Hierarchy from file

The 0 in your argument is controlling the placement however easiest would probably be to do a SubsetCreatebyMDX then add and remove a dummy element to make it static if it truly can't be MDX driven. Saves messing about trying to determine the position, especially if there are multiple hierarchies an...
