Re: IBM Instance is not showing in tm1 Architect

Hi, Please make sure you post in the correct forum. So 1. PAW and Pax are irrelevant to Architect, so no need to think about them. 2. In the admin host setting for Architect you need the IP address or the FQDN for TM1 Admin Host, this is nearly always the IP address of the machine that the TM1 DB is...

VBA to clean up named ranges.

We occasionally come across workbooks with a large number of named ranges and this impacts for the performance of PAfE. The most obvious indication that you are suffering from this is just moving from cell to cell with the arrow keys has a lag but it will also hurt the calculation performance. If th...

Re: Very slow DBRW performance when a cube is used as data source

You are also moving from the Perspectives client to the PAfE client as part of this transition (as well as moving from v9 to v11 so many years of updates and changes). PAfE generally does not deal well with "Mega-slices" versus perspectives but we don't see a significant / multiple orders ...

Re: TuboIntegrator ODBC with Synapse SQL Pool: SQL execution error

Perhaps try setting all the query values / parameters at runtime in the prolog? The you can be very clear exactly what is taking place at runtime. These values are read / write so you could asciioutput them at run time as well to make sure that the parameters are exactly what you think they are. htt...

Re: IBM Planning analytics for Excel Session Time out

Hi, Your mail is rather unclear about which client session you are trying to impact. You mention editing a config for PASS but then mention testing the connection time out in Excel. For excel sessions you want the following both set in the tm1s.cfg https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/planning-analytics/2.0....

Re: PASS process with conditional user input parameters

Rather than using parameters you can use a "Front End Selection" cube. Dimension by }User and "Front End Selection" which is a list of your parameter values. Use Picklist and MDX Sets to control what users can see and pick from, this gives you a high level of control over what us...

ODBC Connections and locked / stalled threads

Hi, Historically we have had issues over the years with failed ODBC connections from TM1 to SQL Servers. These used to occur very infrequently, a couple of times a year perhaps. What we see is the that the TI process initiates the ODBC connection and then sits there indefinitely waiting for a respon...

You can use Lifecycle Administration for this. There's also a method where you can get to the JSON and edit replace the server name but I forget the shortcut to get to the JSON. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to tell you.

You need to read up on TI Local Variables https://www.ibm.com/docs/sl/planning-an ... -variables

Specifically in this case DatasourceNameForServer and DatasourceCubeview

Re: MDX analysis of what you are feeding

Thanks Wim, that's an interesting read, most of the items are pretty obscure. A few items stand out though TI Functions. Interesting that the ASCIIOutput function is not listed, the one thing that has been known for a long while to not be possible. Same for ExecuteCommand. AssignClientPassword - I'm...

Re: MDX analysis of what you are feeding

They were pretty clear when asked that v12 on premise would not re-introduce any of the functionality that v12 containerised was removing. The loss of the Stats cubes has not really been publicised, it's a pretty big deal isn't? How are we supposed to tell we have got our designs right, if dim order...

Hi, The Elpar / ElementParent function will bring back an elements parent, so if you have the levels organised as structure in the dimension then you can use this. Do take care though as if you have multiple consolidation structures in the dimension then you can't guarantee which structure you will ...

A fellow forumer also pointed out that the licensing conditions have changed as well. If you try to reinstall PAW you're going to need a HCL Mirantis licence, make sure you fully understand this before proceeding. The lack of a licence may block you from installing the product (though I don't know t...
