Re: TI views using alternate hierarchies

Yup, that's my understanding too I'm afraid...Hierarchies don't work with traditional views / subsets and so can't be used as a datasource...

Frustrating that the functionality is not finished...

Re: Method for handling Rules for Actuals/Forecast periods

I've always been told to avoid cell security if at all possible. Is there a performance hit because of that or is it just a matter of the added complexity, don't fool with it? I think this has long been a piece of received wisdom but its possible that times have changed but I'll say up front, as li...

Re: Method for handling Rules for Actuals/Forecast periods

I'm not sure I totally understand what you are asking but..... Are you using the "wrong" functionality. You get the data to the cube by the most efficient method for your design, that will vary depending on a large number of factors. Open / closed is a security issue and should be dealt with using s...

Re: Feeders for rules in same cube with DB function.

You've only posted one of the rule sheets so its going to be hard to tell the. Have you used the various rule trace and check rule / feeder pieces of functionality to try and diagnose the issue? Its probably an issue with a feeder statement and if you test from the source cell then you should be abl...

Re: TI summary display

There is something around 7:20 that implies a known remaining run time in the video but tbh I don't believe it is possible to know this with accuracy. It's probably derived from assumptions about how much work has been requested or some other estimate. Maybe the TI is reaching out to third party for...

Re: TI summary display

There are two issues with what you are after that mean I don't think it can be achieved without getting into the RestAPI and building your own functionality. 1. Once a user launches a TI the client session is locked there is no method to interrupt it to provide feedback on the state of the running T...

Re: File is open in IBM Cognos TM1 Server

Hi Alex,

I'm not going to be much help I'm afraid but I have seen similar behaviour, erratically and infrequently, where the OS thinks TM1 still has a lock on a file that has been used as TI datasource.

Not been able to reproduce and so it has not been raised with IBM.

Re: Docker & McAfee on Windows Server

Hi mce, Did you log-in and fill in the forms? I don't think that just because the path starts with hub, this relates to hub specifically.

For example this page is talking about RHEL on prem installs (I think!)

Re: Docker & McAfee on Windows Server

Hi Bakkone, you could run CE but it is not formally supported. When IBM removed support for Ubuntu this also removed support Docker CE (since RHEL only supports Docker EE). FYI this is the link for docker ee pricing you need a log in though. https://hub.docker.com/editions/enterprise/docker-ee-serve...

Re: Docker & McAfee on Windows Server

Well I was 100% sure of my facts on this but I'm now struggling to find earlier references. This may have something to do with it https://searchitoperations.techtarget.com/news/252462758/Docker-Enterprise-pricing-shakeup-leaves-unanswered-questions I'm not sure this is the same product as Docker EE ...

Through the docker website the minimum core count is 5, so sounds like someone is trying to gouge you? Its still more costs than it should be (i.e. =0).

Re: Excel formulae don't work in PAX

Hi, I suggest you provide some more detail, perhaps show us the formula that are working and not working and the results that are displayed in the cells. Or perhaps the workbook itself. e.g. You say "doesn't like" but you need to state exactly what the issue is, if its just display are you sure it i...

Re: Docker & McAfee on Windows Server

Hi Blackhawk, Just some queries / comments. One other thing to note....as of Windows 2019, containerized services are now part of the OS and no longer require a Docker EE license Our understanding is that the Windows Server OS 2016 does not require an additional docker licence. Do you have anything ...

Re: GL application and Alternate Hierachies

A lot depends on what you mean by "clients", is this some kind of internal customer within a single organisation or genuinely different organisations. If its the former then its just a normal build with a bit of complexity on the time dimension. Make sure that the hierarchies are available everywher...

Re: Storing a user session details in tm1

You can use the solution that lotsaram mentions where you have a reference cube containing the }Clients dimension to hold the users selection, this will keep the users selection in sync across multiple sheets. Works well when combined with a picklist. Just make sure you use a DBR not a DBRW to pull ...

Re: TM1 Performance Issue

This normally happens because you have a large file open pointed at a server when you try and connect to the server.

With calc on automatic or TM1REBUILDOPTION=1 there will often be a delay while the excel environment is calculated before the server explorer completes its log in.

Re: Access issue for specific active forms

You'll need to do more analysis, it sounds like the user doesn't have the level of security that they think they do. Suggest the users navigates to the relevant location in the cube viewer to see what they really have.
Right click on the cell and select edit status, this should say what is blocking.
