Re: GL application and Alternate Hierachies

A lot depends on what you mean by "clients", is this some kind of internal customer within a single organisation or genuinely different organisations. If its the former then its just a normal build with a bit of complexity on the time dimension. Make sure that the hierarchies are available everywher...

Re: Storing a user session details in tm1

You can use the solution that lotsaram mentions where you have a reference cube containing the }Clients dimension to hold the users selection, this will keep the users selection in sync across multiple sheets. Works well when combined with a picklist. Just make sure you use a DBR not a DBRW to pull ...

Re: TM1 Performance Issue

This normally happens because you have a large file open pointed at a server when you try and connect to the server.

With calc on automatic or TM1REBUILDOPTION=1 there will often be a delay while the excel environment is calculated before the server explorer completes its log in.

Re: Access issue for specific active forms

You'll need to do more analysis, it sounds like the user doesn't have the level of security that they think they do. Suggest the users navigates to the relevant location in the cube viewer to see what they really have.
Right click on the cell and select edit status, this should say what is blocking.

Re: Does anyone know how to run 2 PAW instances on same server?

I personally think it is not worth the effort; especially considering linux OS resource consumption is not much AND there are no licensing fees if you want to use a desktop version (Ubuntu etc.). Split them into to linux VMs and run the array of docker containers for each instance of PAW in their o...

Hopefully this is test data you have posted? Many of our customers would object to having their results posted in public forums, even if its not-obvious what the numbers are.

To the OP, it would be worth being explicit about the direction you want the data to flow, the answer will be different.

Re: Temp View difference to Perm Views

As every the most right thing is to give the developer the tools to make the choice themselves of the scope of the object.
Flag values of
0 - Permanent object
1 - Temp and local to the creating TI only.
2 - Temp and global to the entire TI chain.

Re: ODBO Connection to MSAS Failing

Hi,

Just to close this one off.

The issue was indeed triggered by the replacement of Excel 2007 with 2016.

Installing a SQL client on the box (2014 in this case) meant that the ODBO connection started working again.

Re: ODBO Connection to MSAS Failing

Small update. It would appear that you have to have the same versioned SQL client on the TM1 DB as the SQL DB in order for ODBO to work. My belief is that the movement from Office 2007 to 2016 has probably moved the ODBO drivers past the compatibility with the SQL version. I'm trying to arrange for ...

ODBO Connection to MSAS Failing

Wondering if anyone might have any insights on what the resolution to my problem maybe. We have some TIs that reach out to MSAS that have been working for many moons without issue They recently all started failing both at runtime and on edit. When the TI opens it fails fast, with the message "Cannot...

Re: Location of the file accessible from the Cognos TM1 server

Hi Daniel, In the TI process there are two paths to set the first is the path from the point of view of the server, the other is from the point of view of the client, i.e. where you opened the TI editor screen. So at runtime the first of these paths is used, if the TM1 server on the Ubuntu box can't...

Re: Server/Service Restart on Crash - Planning Analytics, PAx and PAW 2.0

FYI for your crash https://www.tm1forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=14493 For your question. You can request them to set the service to restart automatically on failure, that is probably the easiest thing to do. If you have another TM1 service running you can probably get some DOS together for TM1 to ex...

Re: TM1 Server crash on saving dimension (status Suspended)

In response to our defect we've been told that there was a defect relating to "re-ordering elements" in the dim editor (rather than formally setting the sort order) causing the server to fail. This was fixed in 205 IF 3 and 206 We tested our use case and have confirmed the issue is resolved. Since n...

Re: TM1 Server crash on saving dimension (status Suspended)

Hi Ken, We have seen this a few times as well. The only repeatable instance we have had is when two people were in the perspectives dimension editor at the same time and had both performed edits (obviously not best practice but it does happen). We have raised this with IBM. (TS001876885) We have ins...
