Re: Cognos Express Trial - Can someone provide me the installation?

We don't tend to close threads. As time changes so (sometimes) do the things discussed. You never know in a few months IBM may start offering a trial. Then you'll be good to go. One thing I would mention is IBM lease cloud versions of PA. I don't the price of such things but it might worth looking i...

Re: Cognos Express Trial - Can someone provide me the installation?

If you're doing this as genuine evaluation to purchase the software, I'm sure some kind of temporary access can be granted to the cloud based software. You'd need to contact IBM and work on it with a sales executive. Keep in mind they won't do anything like this unless they feel this is genuine oppo...

Have you tried using MDX for the second column? You would need something to link off so there would need to be a relationship between the 2 for the MDX to work off, rather than saying just display this...

Re: ODBO connection from 10.2.2 instance to PA instance

I'm not sure of the ins and outs of this (not sure if it's even possible) but my first inclination would be to overlay the ODBO drivers on the 10.2.2 machine with the ones from the PA machine, taking a backup first of course. I can only guess that the 10.2.2 drivers are not able resolve the connecti...

Re: ODBCOutput Failure

Thanks Tom, that's a nice suggestion. I have a system process for executing store procedures so that's something I could instead of building the code with the prolog,

ODBCOutput Failure

Guys, As far as I can tell (and experienced in the past) ODBCOutput does not return any kind of error code when executing a query. The IBM documentation only mentions the 255 character limit. I plan on writing a sub process to validate the DB after the query has executed but if there's a better way ...

Re: How to Edit TI Process without first Executing it?

Or even have the source as a flat file with correct number of fields in it. Then override. That way you can amend your file to match without executing a query at all. You can specify the query in the process.

Re: How to Edit TI Process without first Executing it?

Why not just point to an ODBC that doesn't exist. That way when the process opens the query fails. The using parameters or a lookup simply overwrite the ODBC data source. That doesn't involve any code as you should be including a lookup for the ODBC anyway to make deployment easier. With the above, ...

I have seen strange cases in the past with extended Ascii characters and try to stay away from there.
Which includes French accents like é, è, ê too. Not sure if this is still an issue nowadays, I am talking about some 5 years ago.
We're still on 10.2.2 so it may have been fixed since.

Re: Ascii Quote Fun and Games

It was 100% because I was using an extended Ascii character 0186. Once I lowered it to character 94 everything worked as expected. It's interesting that the process itself recognized the extended character but the data tab part of the process did not,

Looks like it may have something to do with the extended Ascii character set. Looking at something else and will post back.

Ascii Quote Fun and Games

Guys, I'm trying to move awkward data between cubes and this includes free comment fields. The fields contain all kinds of crap so I can't use the usual delimiters as I'm exporting it to file first. I have therefore gone for the Ascii quote character set as Char(186) which then looks like this: Quot...

Re: Planning Analytics using twice the memory of 10.1

I'm guessing the css change is only going to be available to on-premise installations? We're going PA on the cloud this year and I would love to be able to alter the stylings for TM1web after we migrate. I can't see IBM giving you that level of access. May be on the partner cloud but not commercial...
