Re: High Availability PA server

Yes with Rest API delta queries it's possible. After you initialize a monitoring/mirroring service each subsequent query can just retrieve cells with changed values since the last delta request and push these to the hot synced instance. For some customers requiring high availability on failover we h...

Re: Separate measure dimension for each cube VS one singular measure dimension for all cubes

The drawback is that this dimension now has 100+ elements, for all kinds of special exceptions etc. Cleanup is especially hard (how do you figure out if one element is used in a cube somewhere in a big model?), maintenance is hard, visually it is not appealing at all. Really you don't need anything...

Re: Feeders without Skipcheck

Hi, sorry to raise a very old post from the dead but I have 2 questions: 1) Is it still the case that feeding to another cube without skipcheck will result in no feeding? 2) Is there any scenario where having skipcheck off but feeders on makes any sense? Maren I don't think that #1 has ever been th...

Re: TM1RptFilter

TM1RptFilter does the same as the filter function in the Perspectives/Architect cube viewer. It only works if the view has a single dimension on rows.

I don't think you can call it a bug. It's always been like this, even if it sucks.

Re: Expand function with numbers

Could it be that Expand rounds numbers to 4 decimal places? ... and therefore your “day part” goes to zero?

You could get around this by multiplying by a factor of 10^6 and then dividing again.

Re: Get TM1 Web Application name using the GUID

I believe if cube cell comments are entered from the TM1 Application Web application then the GUID of the particular application shows up as an element in the }Annotation_ApplicationID control dimension which is used in the }CellAnnotations cubes. I don't ever use Application Web so in this dimensio...

Re: STR(Num, len, dec) with only one argument

It should be simple to implement as well, just right click on the Function dimension and create the alias. If only we had access to the objects the next level down in the database. FWIW you can use CellGetS and CellGetN in place of DB in rules ... lol! I have always wanted some function alias...

Re: SQL Query Length Limit for TI

My Query is not for ODBCOutput. Rather it is for SQL when importing data to TM1. Actuall I do not need to put all SQL query into a single String variable. I can have multiple string variables that are being used in the SQL statement for SELECT, such as ?SQLPart1? and ?SQLPart2?...etc. Does this 32K...

Re: re-order dimension result

Hi, I have been checking our dimension orders and notice that I can gain -20, -50 on some cubes. But some of the cubes are quite small, so 100mb and another is 1gb. So my question is, when does dimension reordering become worth it based on the size of the cube? Maren This is one of those ultimate "...

Re: Bringing Allocated Resource from another cube

Well, urrrm, what have you actually done? The requirement you state is pretty simple. You just need a zero supressed view on the first cube with only the "Allocated Resource" measure selected. Then on the data tab take the variable from the Resource dimension and write it with CellPutS to the "Resou...

Re: SKIP If doesn't exist instead of ERROR

This question is so basic I think it's appropriate to guide you to the request for assistance guidelines. This is really TurboIntegrator scripting 101. Usually you would make sure that metadata (that is dimension updates) is loaded in a separate process from a separate source, and that this happens ...

Re: Data Not Moving to Cell

The issue is not with the calculation but with the feeding . The screenshots of the rule trace don't help at all as due to the Continue the tracer only shows the FIRST rule which applies to the cell and not the FINAL AND ACTUAL calculation. But in this case it doesn't matter as the screenshot of the...

Re: Multiple COA Best Practice

If this is primarily for consolidation and you have business segment dimensions aside from Legal Entity then it could get messy and separate cubes per ERP/GL are probably a good idea. However, if all you care about is Legal Entity consolidation and statutory IFRS/GAAP reporting based on the CoA then...

Re: Is there an easy way to convert a dynamic subset to static?

Ever since SubsetMDXSet was introduced I only use that one to create dynamic subsets. It seems more robust. For example you do not get an error if your MDX returns an empty set. If you use SubsetCreateByMDX with such a subset an error will occur. But sometimes it is okay to have an empty set if you...

Re: Free Server Monitoring Tool other than TM1Top

The only thing that p*****s me off about it is its insistence on you following admin password rules that to my mind are complete and utter frapping overkill for an application that generally lives its life within a VPN; rules that I do NOT follow for my real TM1 login, so every time I want to log i...

Re: PA 2.0.9 Upgrade Concerns

Yes I have a customer already on 2.0.9.1 and all is good. The MDX security issue doesn't really affect them. One really good thing is all the "sf_file" locking errors seem to be vastly reduced which is both good for performance and reduces garbage in the message log.

Change of MDX security in 2.0.9 - Discussion

There is a potentially important change in 2.0.9 which Mike Cowie's Quebit has uncovered (and many thanks to Moby91 for pointing me to it), though it doesn't seem to be in the release notes and there doesn't seem to be a full technote on it yet. In short, it used to be that MDX would execute then c...

You need to replace ALL the hardcoded references to the dimension with a reference to your dimension selection.
