Re: MTCubeLoad vs MTFeeders.AtStartup vs MaximumCubeLoadThreads
So for maximum performance (in theory) these MTx parameters should be set or T as standard? Even in the case of using Persistent Feeders it's going to show a gain when for some reason they fail/get blown away.

Re: TM1 Perspective Vs Pax
So, apparently this is expected behavior and there's no plan to change it. I'd rather have the Perspectives behavior and no drop-down myself. I'm going to raise an RFE. *sigh*

Re: TM1 Perspective Vs Pax
So an update from support/development: Excel prevents the dropdown from rendering on a protected sheet. This has been the behavior for past releases as well except before the fix for Defect 80174 (it is PI96773), it would prompt on selection. Once a password has been entered, the dropdowns will star...

Re: TM1 Perspective Vs Pax
This is a bug. IBM said it had been fixed in PAX 11.0.33, but it's still there in 11.0.38. I've just (re)raised the defect with IBM.

Re: Planning Analytics using twice the memory of 10.1
Good work Paul, I know how much effort it takes to get IBM to this stage. FWIW, I believe we're seeing similar memory issues.

Re: Pulse in Cloud
I believe the answer to this is not yet, as IBM won't let third-party software onto their cloud servers, and I don't think Cubewise have finished converting Pulse to the Rest API. The best people to talk to about this are Cubewise at cubewise.com , who I'm sure will be delighted at the idea of a sal...

Re: Using old clients with new planning analytics server
Hi Kamil, The only non-vanilla thing is that this is running on Citrix, and the way this is set up I don't have access to the \ssl directory for the Citrix image to add the imbtm1.arm file. It is only Architect/Perspectives for the moment. I tried it on a local copy of TM1 and I had the same issue. ...

Re: Using old clients with new planning analytics server
Just in case anyone else goes down the same rabbit hole: Step 3 on Kamil's post implies (or at least it did to me) that you don't need to add the ibmtm1.arm file to the local install \ssl directory. Using 10.2 and 10.2.2 it wouldn't work for me unless that file is in the \ssl directory, no matter wh...

We haven't had a good hardware discussion in some time...
So, it's been getting on for 10 years, and I'm looking at replacing my (local) TM1 servers. I get that (mostly) more memory is better and (mostly) more cores are better and (probably) SSD hard drives with lots of headroom are good. Ignoring licensing issues for the purposes of argument, and the deba...

Re: View Size issue
You don't say what version you're on - I've just had this on a PAX report that normally runs OK on 10.2.2 and threw this error in the log in 11.030. FWIW, I increased the maximumviewsize and it went away - you can increase this dynamically, so it should be easy to test higher maximumviewsize setting...

Re: DBRW connection to two same named instances, on different servers
Although under some (carefully controlled) circumstances it can be a useful fail-over device. If server1:fred isn't available, and if server1;server2 are the admin hosts, then server2:fred will become available. Obviously it depends on how data is loaded, replicated, etc, as to how up-to-date server...

Re: DBRW connection to two same named instances, on different servers
This won't work in Perspectives. It will use the server instance with the first named admin host in options (so, if admin hosts is set to server1;server2 both with instances called Fred, then the server1 Fred will take precedence). For access from Excel, you won't be able to do what you want. It mig...

Re: Getting data from AD
Not natively, but you can do it through e.g. VBA, VB or Powershell. Here's a sample VBA function: Function Get_LDAP_User_Properties(strObjectType, strSearchField, strObjectToGet, strCommaDelimProps) ' This is a custom function that connects to the Active Directory, and returns the specific ' Active ...
