Re: TI views using alternate hierarchies

BTW the next PA " Ask me Anything " session is TODAY. It is worth joining It's around 1am my time. I think that works better for me and better for them because the only thing I would want to "A" in an AMA is "When are you at IBM going to get your collective head out of your backside and start provi...

Re: Fix Pack Releases: PA2 / V11 Series

A link to the 2.0.7 release has now been added. In the depreciation list, I noted:
IBM TM1 Top utility
The TM1 Top utility is scheduled for deprecation.

Microsoft has finally done something right (Excel)

Rather than peeing people off by doing things like: Pulling the Recent Folders list in File Open (which admittedly they grudgingly restored after seemingly endless waves of customer protests); Introducing the work-destroying and ineptly programmed abomination that is Autosave for OneDrive*; The Ribb...

Re: TI - Add new element in alphabetical order under consolidation

That said, I would not necessarily recommend using people's names as principal element names. If someone changes their name (as some newly married women have an annoying (from a system point of view) habit of doing), you'll need to export all of the data relating to that element and create a new on...

Re: TI - Add new element in alphabetical order under consolidation

Sheesh this ran a little off topic. To be fair my original reply was just the first line pointing to the DimensionSortOrder function. Then I foresaw the impending pain that will inevitably come from using a description as a principal name, thought better of it, and added the suggestion that the ori...

Re: TI - Add new element in alphabetical order under consolidation

Normally you would use an artificial key for this; something like an employee ID code from the HR module. You can use the name as an alias. You can then use MDX to create sorted subsets which put the elements into the order that you want. True. But start using consolidations to collapse and expand ...

Re: TI - Add new element in alphabetical order under consolidation

I'm a pretty new user of TM1 (using version 10.2.4) I have a dimension that is list of employee names with a single consolidation called "All Employee Names". The dimension looks some this like this: All Employee Names adam-jones brett-smith david-collins Each time a new employee name is added to t...

Re: Cube Views

This is of course ridiculously cumbersome if you have a long list of cubes and the one that has the view is right down the bottom. Lotsaram to the rescue ! https://www.tm1forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=12717&p=61981&hilit=application#p61981 Ah yes, I'd forgotten about that one. To be honest I rarel...

Re: Cube Views

I was able to create a folder under applications. Now I would like to copy a view under the new folder so that it can be shared by mulitple users. The relevant documentation is here . That's 10.2.2, but the principles are the same. In short, you drag the view from under the cube and into the folder...

Re: Cube Views

Is is possible to create a folder to store a cube view in? In what environment? Perspectives, the abomination that is PAW? Another interface? Please check the Request for Assistance guidelines before posting. Questions should have FULL details. If it's Perspectives you can put them in applications ...

Re: MTCubeLoad

I've been thinking about this further. What I said earlier still holds; if IBM can't be clear about when the functionality can fail, and indicate that it CAN fail, I'd just turn it off and stay away from it. However... if issues like this go unreported they'll never get fixed. And for it to get fixe...

Re: MTCubeLoad

I was excited about MTCubeLoad and MTFeeders.AtStartup=F after seeing how fast server load time improved. But unfortunately not able to use these due to these issues. Regards, Understandable. However I can't for the life of me understand why IBM would turn something like this loose in the wild when...

Re: MTCubeLoad

Do you use conditional feeders at all? Multi-threaded loading is something which is best avoided if you do, because you can end up with exactly that result. This issue has nothing to do with feeders. Some of the input data does not appear with MTCubeLoad=T. Well excuse the hell out of me for raisin...

Re: MTCubeLoad

Hi, We added MTCubeLoad=T and MTQ=15. Then after few days, by chance, a user realized that some numbers in a cube have disappeared. We loaded a backup of few days old in a separate environment and we saw, the numbers are there in the cube. When I checked thed CubeName.cub file, in both the backup a...

It's been a little quiet on the Interim Fix front of late. Actually there have been a couple since the last one reported here; IF14 and IF18. However either they didn't make it into the Notifications, or I was too busy building new rear wings to notice. In any case, IBM Cognos TM1 10.2.2 Fix Pack 7 ...

Re: Cognos Express Trial - Can someone provide me the installation?

If you're doing this as genuine evaluation to purchase the software, I'm sure some kind of temporary access can be granted to the cloud based software. You'd need to contact IBM and work on it with a sales executive. Keep in mind they won't do anything like this unless they feel this is genuine opp...

Like Lotsa said, it's been there from 2.0. Remember the good old days when there were "What's New" .pdfs and you could just search for a feature? Aaaah, nostalgia, man... it ain't what it used to be. Nonetheless there are still such lists available though these days you have to poke and prod through...
