Re: View in cube does not exist error

Could security be involved and does it work when you run with an admin user ?
What is the layout of the view ?
Does the code work in the Prolog tab of a new process ? Why is the code sitting in the Data tab anyway: what is the data source and what happens in the Prolog tab ?

What is the definition of unique / duplicate records?
What is the expected outcome and what records should not be exported based on the screenshot ?

Re: View in cube does not exist error

You can open up the view manually without issue ?
What is the result of the ViewExists function on that cube and view ? 1 ?

Re: Direct edit dimension collection has not been cleared before commit

I still see this message at the customer (not sure what version).

But I noticed an update by IBM: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/apar/PH23571

Re: TI create view for loading data into

A practical example would be good to understand what you mean. In fact, I don't have a clue what you want to do.
Filling in data on consolidated cells seems weird too.

Burnstripe, thank you for providing working syntax. It isn’t the easiest subject.

Re: Prior Year and Next Year in Rules: What is Faster?

Indeed, and there are other advantages as well, like MDX.
In general, additional calculations need to be done in the entire TM1 model, which can be avoided.
Debugging will be easier too with attributes rather than logic buried in rules and TI.

Scan on an empty string

Hi,

I had to investigate a tricky mapping process with TM1 data going to Hyperion Financial Management (HFM).

Actually, it turns out that using the Scan function with an empty string, to be looked up in a non-empty string, gives a result of 1. Not 0.

Be aware of this :-)

Re: Setting default parameter in PAW based on subset

You could create a subset (with TI) containing a couple of elements, the first one being the "default" one. Below that, the other elements. Set this subset for the user in the parameters screen. The Default element could read: "Use Default version" (without showing it in the parameters screen) but s...

Interesting. This thread is years old but I always found that logging out as the user where private objects had been copied to and logging back in was always sufficient for the user to be able to access the private objects.
The same for me. I never did an Unload cube in this respect.

Hi,

You can use "load on Demand" parameter for this. Check it on every cube, and monitor the memory usage in }StatsByCube. The cubes which are not loaded - were not used.
That's a good piece of lateral thinking :-)

Re: Local Backup

I'm intrigued to know whether dropping EXE files onto the TM1 cloud environment is formally permitted by IBM's SaaS Ts&Cs? Last week I implemented a backup functionality with 7zip for a cloud customer. Either you copy over the file 7za.exe and call it. Either you copy over the files 7z.exe and 7z.d...

Re: Is there a way to for TI to write to multiple intersection in one line?

If you want to write String data to the cube (CellPutS), CellPutProportionalSpread is not going to help you.

But most likely, yes, the fact that the dynamic subsets recaculates too many times could be the culprit.

Re: Tm1s.cfg my own parameters

BTW, I don't like the idea of having prod and non-prod services sharing the same name. YMMV. My mileage varies greatly indeed. If I'm having users testing reports in a dev environment (especially complex reports which draw from multiple servers), websheets on TM1 web etc, etc, I want them using EXA...

Re: Break function

Hi Wim, I use Break too, so this is good to know. If you put Sleep (100) before the first Break does this resolve it? Interestingly adding an asciioutput into both IF statements outputs 2 files if a break statement is there. regards, Mark Yes, the Breaks are ignored leading to endless loops too.

Re: Break function

Thanks for the confirmation, these were exactly my thoughts too.
I think I will continue using Break and make sure there's only 1 of it, if there are 2 then yes, a numeric value will do.
I just find Break so much better than escaping loops with numeric values like -1 or 0 or 999 or some such.

Break function

Hi all, I know that the Break function is not supported in TI. But in the past it never bite me, until today. Looking at this code: c = 1; While( c > 0 ); If( 'X' @= 'Y' ); Break; EndIf; c = c + 1; If( c > 3 ); Break; EndIf; End; The process will run forever and bring the TM1 server to the ground. W...
