Outsourcing options
Hi. Interested has anyone had luck outsourcing tm1 development overseas. (I’m thinking full time developer based in low cost country). I have changed roles and looking at implementing tm1 but the budget does not allow for an in house developer (except me as a knowledgeable user). And the business ca...

Rule worksheet save does not update
Hi I have been having an issue for the last couple of months where when I save a TM1 rule worksheet (.xru file) it does not update the Rule (.RUX). There is no error message to indicate the rule did not save. (however I notice the save process runs very quickly and when checking the rule in the .RUX...

Re: Circular reference in my worksheet
Hi I have resolved this for this workbook. There was "One" cell in the entire workbook that was actually circular (divided by itself). I found this by process of elimination deleting sheets and recalculating until I found the offending sheet, then found the cell. Unfortunately Excel was not helping ...

Re: Circular reference in my worksheet
Hi all Similar problem with me. This may not be TM1 related, but I have only experienced this in spreadsheets with TM1 installed. On all TABs of my worksheet (worksheet has multiple tabs with many TM1 / excel formula's) I am getting a excel circular reference warning pointing to a cell (different ce...

Automatic spreadsheet update, Cam level security
Hi We recently "downgraded" from TM1 9.5.2 to cognos express with xcelerator 10.1. (due to cheaper pricing model) Part of the change was to move to Cam level security. Since moving to CAM level security we have lost the ability to use Excel VBA and "N_Connect" to TM1. I have searched various threads...

Re: Excel workbook slow "first time" open with TM1 9.5.2
Thank Oliver, you saved me I do not have any active forms however the spreadsheet may have had some in the past (later deleted) so the Name "TM1REBUILDOPTION" was still there and set to = 1 as you suspected. When I changed this to = 0 it fixed the issue. Additionally as there are no longer any activ...

Excel workbook slow "first time" open with TM1 9.5.2

Characteristics of the issue include 1: File opens quickly <1 second if I have not logged into TM1. (TM1 addin live just not log...

Re: How to Trace Security Access Issues
Thanks Alan
You were right, when double checking the dimension secutity (via displaying control objects) I found read access only granted to the specific N elements in the dimension for her profiles. Now its fixed.
Regards

How to Trace Security Access Issues
Hi I have a user that I need to change her access in order to edit data in a cube. I have tried the below but still the user does not have access to write to the cube (ie greyed out cell in the view). Does anyone know of a way to track which specific part of the security profile is blocking write ac...

Re: Need help with feeder stmt...
I agree with David, I recomend you consider building your GL Actual Balances cube from scratch rather than make it Feeder / rule based. Use a similar method you use to populate the GL Actual Transaction cube (I assume this is populated by TI) Alternatively ASCII export a predefined view of the 'GL t...

Re: Calculation Hierarchy on the fly ?
I may have over complicated things. Simpler solution would be to have two hierachies within you dimension structure one for "marketing" one for "all". Use your existing method (either TI or dimension speadsheet etc) you use for the "all" hierachy to create another one for marketing with different C ...

Re: Calculation Hierarchy on the fly ?
A simple solution for you may be have multiple dimension hierachies. You can have a marketing hierachy that shows A= 10 C = 10 Total Marketing = A+C = 20 This can be a seperate hierachy to your example A + B + C = Total 30 This can be done via TI if you want it produced automatically, 1: Flag the el...

Re: Resolving Hierarchy issue
Hi Not sure of your question but here are some functions that may assist if you require a function to return the parent element try the "ELPAR" function this returns the parent of an element in a specified dimension or "ELLEV" function returns the level of an element within a dimension (if you just ...

Re: Public View with a Private Subset
Thanks Paul Unfortunately we are still on TM1 9.1 so Active forms are not an option for us. The requirement for the user defined subset is in the header section of the report (so this makes it a bit easier) At this stage it looks like I need to run for all data in a VUSLICE (probably retrieving 60,0...

Public View with a Private Subset
Hi I have a challenge where users wish to get a standard view of data from TM1 in a Excel spreadsheet. (With zero suppression and defined structure etc). However the view results needs to change based on a particular dimension subset which they will define in the excel spreadsheet (ie view results r...

Re: Best option for not calculating other versions in cube
I create a C element in the dimension called "stet versions' then place the n elements i want stet'd out under this. Then I use "eliscomp" formula to determine if the version is a child of the 'stet versions' and stet out accordingly. This 1 rule is then repeated through all relevant cubes. For me t...

Hi We had the same issue on 1 PC in our company (only 1 out of many upgrades). The issue arose when we upgraded from Excel 2003 to Excel 2007. The issue could not be resolved by re-installing, however when we deleted Excel entirely and loaded Excel 2007 from scratch (plus addins etc) the issue went ...

Re: DISTINCT Counts in TM1
A solution to this may be to build an alternative hierachy in the dimension that holds "subject" information. This alternative hierachy would consist of all 'N' elements and no 'C' elements. The alternative N elements would look like. Count_Class123 => Representing N element (Class123) in normal str...
