Re: Cryptic TM1 Messages Decoded

Process "xxx": Invalid parameter array size: Could not initialize process You also get a failure on opening the error log and the log$ file remains. The cause of this error is due to a drill process being created against cube A but the drill Assignment belongs to cube B i.e. the cubename in the para...

Re: Order of loading files in memory

... My real user case is a TM1 model of 115 GB where I needed to import a couple of TI processes but I forgot... until 80 GB was loaded and half an hour was gone... Would be useful to be able to use AutoHotKey to effectively retype the necessary details from your non-prod to prod environment then s...

Re: LOGOUTPUT to separate log file

There is a logger called TM1.TILogOutput but tried a quick config and test and still ended up writing to the server log. I could be doing something silly from my side so may be worthwhile doing your own testing.

Just linking to the post to show available loggers for anyone needing them:

Re: DBRW vs DBR in PAx

Guessing that DBR and DBRW would be the same now as PAfE should be leveraging the REST API and no need for two functions.
Not sure on the VIEW function and how stargates would be triggered though.

Re: View Transaction Log not working Windows 10 Office 2016

Taking a wild guess here but have you got a TM1 license file somewhere on your system? Try remove/rename it.
All other Admin functionality working as expected?

Is your msmask32.ocx in C:\Windows\SysWOW64 or C:\Windows\System32?

Re: Optimize While

...There is a TI function called CellPutProportionalSpread that can do this for you and it is going to be light years faster then looping through a dimension to allocate. Worth pointing out that on very large models (we were populating billions of cells-daily sales across 50k stores, 200k SKUs etc....

Re: Optimize While

Two quick things you could try without going into why and what you are doing.
1) Have you turned off logging?
2) You could set nContadorMax=DIMSIZ('02.Codigo_Funcional'); Then use the new variable in your while instead of sizing it each time.

Have not used Quick Reports too much yet but everything looked to be linked in Named ranges - check in Name Manager to see if you get what you need.

Re: TM1.Server sf_Delete and sf_Rename failed

... What is the difference for putting it in Epilog? I always put it in Prolog. :o To be clear, I only use savedataall in the Prolog of a separated process rather than mixing it with other processes together. Had issues in the past where the TM1 instance would just hang up (cannot remember crashing...

As well as anti-virus I've managed to get two SaveDataAlls running concurrently before which has caused this issue....
And make sure the SaveDataAll is in Epilog - numerous funnies over the years where I have seen it in Prolog.

Re: IBM License Metric Tool?

Thanks for all the pointers Jim - a good overview to start from!

I like point 9 - setting you up for failure so they can beat you at audit time when you are not compliant. Crazy that you have to pay for services to install their auditing tool.

I am gearing up psychologically for this as I have a virtualization and migration project with 5 servers at a client coming up soon. Sounds like heaps of fun!
Will probably keep notes as I go, for my own sanity, and share once successful.

Re: Problem with ASCIIOUTPUT

If A: is a server folder/share, make sure that the account that is linked to the TM1 Service has access to it. TM1 will try and write with that account, not yours, unless you are linked on the service.

p.s. Tomok has mentioned this but just saying it a different way.

Re: TM1.Server sf_Delete and sf_Rename failed

Once you have renamed and got the system back to where it should be, you should look at anti-virus, indexing software and other applications that may be locking the .cub, .dim and other files to prevent this in the future Would recommend excluding files with extensions of: • CUB, CUB$ • DIM, DIM$ • ...

Correct me if I'm wrong but, this is also to do with commitment? Normal waits until the tab is changed but direct writes it straight to the dimension, the second being more beneficial it certain circumstances.
This link gives a bit more clarity on the workings.
