Re: Days360 Tm1

How do you workout the number of full months between jan 10 2016 to jan 9 2021 . Divide the number of days between jan 10 2016 and jan 9 2021 by 30.4 and truncate the remainder. That integer amount will be the number of full months. This will work as long as the number of years between the two date...

Re: calculating WTD, YTD and QTD with rules

What is the best way to calculate this in TM1 cube. Here's your simple answer. Don't. Time period calculations should almost always be done with a hierarchy in the Time dimension and letting the consolidation feature in TM1 take care of it. It will perform light years faster than a rule and you won...

Re: SwapAliaswithPrincipalName old name in sub and vue files

I'm pretty sure that the function SwapAliaswithPrincipalName is not smart enough to cycle through all your views and subsets and change them. All it does it update the dimension. You're on your own to figure out the best way to update the .sub and .vue files.

Re: Cognos Express Trial - Can someone provide me the installation?

IBM does not offer trial software for Planning Analytics, available to the general public. TM1 and Cognos Express, both no longer exist except to licensed users. The fact that those links you are talking about no longer exist should have given you a clue. Also, if you read the fine print in the tria...

That's just not going to happen from anyone on this board. What you are asking for is illegal BTW.

Hi spartan,

for TM1Web you are using Excel - so you can use "conditional formatting" for the red letters

regards
orlando
To clarify, this only works in a web sheet. You cannot change the formatting in the cube viewer.

Re: How to restrict a user not to enter a value in the active form

So you have a text field that users can enter text in but there is one specific text string that no one should be allowed to enter???? That is quite a bizzare requirement and not surprisingly, IBM does not give you the capability to do that in an active form. The only way to restrict text input to s...

Re: TM1WEB 2.0.6 Number Issue

We have a problem with the websheets on IBM Cognos TM1 Web. After the update to the version 2.0.6 of Planning Analytics all the numeric values of our websheets don't follow anymore the format of the Dimension Editor (from Architect or Perspectives). They follow some regional settings of the browser...

Re: Help with IntegratedSecurityMode 2/3

In this case users are .com and all lower case. Sadly that doesn't work Don't use anything after the domain. If your full ID is fred.smith@mycompany.com then your TM1 ID would be "fred.smith" and the value in the unique ID field would be "fred.smith@mycompany". Note we are not including the ".com".

Re: Help with IntegratedSecurityMode 2/3

Not sure what the ".x" is after the domain but it has to be just the domain. If your user id is userid@mycompany.com then then the user ID in TM1 would be user@mycompany. It is also case sensitive, both ID and domain.

Re: ExecuteProcess not setting ProcessExitWithMessge return code correctly

Writing an entry to the server log in and of itself is not an error condition. I do this in all my dimension maintenance processes (to list out all the new members added from Oracle) and it does not create an error condition. Use Global Variables like Wim suggested. I use them all the time to do thi...

Re: ODBCOutput Failure

Guys, As far as I can tell (and experienced in the past) ODBCOutput does not return any kind of error code when executing a query. The IBM documentation only mentions the 255 character limit. I plan on writing a sub process to validate the DB after the query has executed but if there's a better way...

Re: PA TM1 Web difference on Scale Divisor

If you don't care about the footings at the bottom (i.e., no rounding) then you can also do the same with conditional numeric formatting in your report. Have the conditional formatting change based on your selector drop-down. I've done the same thing a few times before and it works fine.

Re: Temp View difference to Perm Views

If using Temp Views you need to use something along the following lines IF( ViewExists( vCube , vView ) = 1 ) ; ViewDestroy( vCube , vView ) ; ENDIF ; ViewCreate( vCube , vView , 1 ) ; ViewSubsetAssign( vCube , vView , vMeasDim, vMeasSub ) ; FWIW, this is exactly what I've been doing in all my TI's...

Re: How to rename a cube

The reason is that TM1 is not case sensitive for TM1 objects so it does not recognize your renamed cube as different. Why is this important? Because TM1 modifies the }Cubes dimension every time the server is restarted, taking out old and adding new. If you have renamed your cube then the old cube na...
