Re: Possibility of Amazon AWS S3 to TM1 On-Prem

thank you so much for a quick response Evgeny. you are correct. we have the Amzon Redshift where all the flat-files are located. So, our tm1 10.2.2 On-Prem needs to connect to flat-files to read the data?. Could you please brief more about on this. maybe solution approach? I am confused, files sitt...

Re: Possibility of Amazon AWS S3 to TM1 On-Prem

Your AWS DevOps engineer should be able to help with pushing S3 files into RS. Then it as simple as any using any other ODBC data source for TM1. As I can see from your other posts, you have RS ODBC set up already.

Re: TM1 10.2.2 Turbo Intergrator unable to connect Amazon Redshift

Thush_CMB: You say it ran successfully previously? Perhaps an application-based security/firewall change on the server? Is the TM1 Service tied to a network account? Could that network account password have been changed but TM1 instance was never cycled to re-load it's authentication? i.e. Lost its...

Re: TM1 10.2.2 Turbo Intergrator unable to connect Amazon Redshift

Hi All: I have requirement: I have the data in Amazon AWS S3 and i need to read the Data using TI (Tm1 10.2.2 on-prem Enviroment) and load into Cube. Is there any solution to achieve this? really appreciated any solution? You have two different post with the same content mate. Already replied to th...

Re: Possibility of Amazon AWS S3 to TM1 On-Prem

HI, Are those files? AWS S3 can hold any type of files. AWS S3 buckets contain objects, it's not a file system. As far I know you would need a 3rd party solution to "mimic" a file system behavior for S3. Probably too complicated. If you have an option/budget you should look at AWS Redshift (storage ...

Re: PA Transaction Log

Thanks EvgenyT. I was able to read transaction log even of the current log in the TM1 10.2.2. Now on PA it's not possible Roei Please review what I said above, tm1s log is always locked (and it has been like that for the last 10 years that I have been worked with tm1) unless you serialize it to the...

Re: PA Transaction Log

Hello, I'm a little confused by... It seems that now the transaction log only reads logs from closed log files and not from the one that is open right now. Transaction log (tm1s) is always locked by the model unless serialized to the disk by either SaveDataAll or CubeSaveData. I'd guess you have a S...

Re: Dynamic YTD Calculation on a Continuous Time Dimension

@ Wim Yes, you may need some extra logic to process data in retrospective.

@WayneBo, I think you have a number of options now that you can work with

Thanks

Re: Dynamic YTD Calculation on a Continuous Time Dimension

Wim, if he simply wants a YTD balance for the day then why even bother with consolidations... YTD Balance measure which is incremented daily?

Cheers

Re: Dynamic YTD Calculation on a Continuous Time Dimension

If you dont want to mock around with multiple consolidations and balance usability vs performance (MUN issue), then
can just increment YTD Balance Measure for each day via TI: closing balance for the prior day + new value

Thanks

Re: Dynamic YTD Calculation on a Continuous Time Dimension

If I understand, you need to be able to calculate the total hours between two given dates. Typically, your first date is anchored to the beginning of the fiscal year. Here is a solution that allows the calculation between any two dates along a continuous timeline. Using a TI, populate each day's ho...

Re: Dynamic YTD Calculation on a Continuous Time Dimension

Hello Fellow Ozzie, Create YTD consol for each day e.g 20200120 YTD with a TI process. You could have a separate Reporting Cube with Period YTD dimension (just as an example). Rule will be too inefficient, you will probably end up blowing the feeder stack too with deep recursion Another option is to...

Re: Protect DBRW fomrula in Perspectives

Easiest way to protect your report is to upload it to Applications folder and make users access it from there. That way they they can never amend "master copy", as they only ever deal with a temp copy. Even if they delete dbrws from temp copy it will have no impact on the shared report. Thanks Evgeny

Re: Chore: ExecuteProcess() aborted, recursion level too deep

Hi Mato, As I stated previously, you need to provide examples of actual code, execution etc. There are two things that normally cause stack overflow (from my experience): 1. Exceeding 100 recursions with ExecuterProcess. Either WHILE loop or continuous "trashing" when process keeps on re-trying afte...

Re: Chore: ExecuteProcess() aborted, recursion level too deep

I think you better of posting actual code of Data Import - Financial. From what I can tell, Data Import - Financial does a ExecuteProcess () that never finishes, a WHILE loop that never meets the condition comes to mind. Hence, the stack overflow.

Thanks

Re: Reading from SAP BW and writing to PA in parallel

Yes, something along those lines. Also, consider a staging cube to land SAP data? Then use it as a data source for further upstream transformations. Saves you from a hassle of dealing with csv files. Moreover, if you are dealing with numerous threads, consider using RushTi to manage processing queue...
