Re: License implication for providing data via REST API

Just got confirmation from IBM, the current named user licensing model covers this.

Re: License implication for providing data via REST API

Thanks, yes, I suppose current licensing should cover this but just want to confirm if anyone has experience on this. As IBM commits to REST API, then it should be a common channel for TM1 to transfer data through REST API.

License implication for providing data via REST API

Hi, all
If wanting to provide data from cube as a source to a downstream system/user via REST API, is there any license implication?
Is it sufficient for that user to be just a read-only user? Or needs to have read/write access? Or even a admin license?
Thanks

ODBC errors in PA 2.0.8

Hi, all I am testing PAL 2.0.8 and found there are the following two harmless errors in ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server in the TM1 server log. But no such error in 10.2.2 for the same process. Any idea? Thanks. 4936 [2] ERROR 2020-01-24 10:37:50.232 TM1.SQLAPI S1000[Microsoft][ODBC Driver 17 for SQL S...

Thanks for sharing. We are on 2.0.8 and hopefully, it is stable enough. Does IBM still have major release or minor release?

Re: Cannot get local PAW working

1. Is it http or https?
2. Go the log folder in the PAW directory and check all logs to see if you can find any clue.

Re: To know Active Users & Inactive Users of TM1

It doesn't really matter if the OP is talking about users that aren't currently logged in or users that have not logged into TM1 within a certain time period when it comes to the idea of just deleting users and let the system add them back. This would only be a valid approach if they are using CAM ...

True, Stephen. IBM staff in France have pointed this out as well, thereby putting it in an email as a proof.
Thanks, Wim.

Re: PAW and PVU

I have checked again with IBM and they have pointed out a further clause in the license document which says: Components Used for Establishing Required Entitlements When determining the number of entitlements required for Licensee's installation or use of the Program, the installation or use of only...

Re: Licensing for Docker EE

Docker EE Basic comes with your Windows Server license. It says that right on the link you provided: Docker Enterprise (Windows Server) is available at no additional cost to all Windows Server 2019 and 2016 customers. Technical support is aligned to the Microsoft support entitlement and provided by...

Licensing for Docker EE

Hi, I am struggling to find proof for using Docker EE freely on Windows Server 2016 or Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7. It is said that if we are Windows Server 2016 customer already or RHEL 7 with subscription, then no extra license fee is needed for installing and using Basic Docker EE? The most useful...

Re: PAW and PVU

Actually, if you look at licensing info for PAx only, there is no PVU mentioning at all in this link. https://www-03.ibm.com/software/sla/sladb.nsf/lilookup/980C2979012407B78525833F0013FCF2?OpenDocument For example, if this Program were licensed on a PVU (Processor Value Unit) basis and Licensee wer...

PAW and PVU

Hi, all
Just heard that if you install PAW onto another server which is different from PAL, then this server needs to be PVU-based as well. Unbelievable!
Is that true?

(RHEL 8 is not supported by PA, though the supported software page did briefly state that it was. )
Thanks. I successfully installed PA & CA onto win 2019 and works perfectly. Waiting my RHEL 7 to come. :D

You can use the 'docker' package included with the RHEL 7 subscription. No difference compared to Docker EE for PAW Local.
Thanks for the confirmation. Save some cost for me.
