Re: PAW Replace Columns with Element Attributes

I tried to do something similar, show an attribute and hide the element name but couldn’t do it without creating an alternative hierarchy for the attribute.
So creating an alternative hierarchy from the attribute will do the job for you but it’s additional work to set it up.

Re: Updating dimension elements using TI with multiple level hierarchy

Without more info I would suggest just appending a number to each "level" to make sure the element names are unique. If your n-level column variable is called "node" and your other 12 columns for element names were col1 through to col12 then something like below on your metadata should theoretically...

Re: Days360 Tm1

TM1 doesn’t have an out of the box function for this so you will need to create the logic yourself. Rules or TI should be relatively simple. You work out the number of full months (e.g if you are looking between the 10th Jan and 15th May you would have 3 full months; Feb, Mar and Apr) then you multi...

Re: Spread functionality

As far as I am aware there is no ability to change the default spreading option. If you don’t want to use the right-click menu you can show users how to work with shortcuts, for your example it sounds like LS*500 would work - this would spread 500 equally across all leaves (the * indicates it should...

Re: How to restrict a user not to enter a value in the active form

In excel you can do it with data validation. Set a named range of text you don’t want to be allowed. Set data validation as custom on the dbrw cells you want restricted and put something like below: =SumProduct(--ISNumber(Search(ForbiddenList,B10)))=0 Where ForbiddenList is the named range of banned...

Re: Drill down in only a row

In architect/perspectives/tm1 web you can’t drill down on only 1 instance of an element that appears multiple times in a nested dimension.
If they are on PA this is something that can be achieved in the new interfaces such as workspace cube views.

Re: TI processes significantly slower after upgrade from TM1 10.2.2 to TM1 2.0

Start by narrowing down which part of the TI is running slower, easiest quick way to do this is to put in asciioutputs with time stamps at the end of main sections in the process. There will be plenty of things that could make it slower, the more you can narrow it down the more suggestions you will ...

Re: Delimiter to be Used

Like you are suggesting, there are characters that are unlikely to be used in text fields and can be used as your separators but if you have free entry text fields you can’t guarantee a character won’t be used. You can enclose all fields in quotes and specify the quote character for the TI using dat...

Re: Tm1 PAW Start.bat exit with code 0

Download windowscontainernetworking-loggingandcleanupaide.ps1 from github and run it with the cleanup option, see if that helps. I run workspace on a Server 2016 VM on my personal machine rather than having it directly on the PC but I believe it’s not ideal to run it on a laptop (which I assume you ...

Re: TI processes significantly slower after upgrade from TM1 10.2.2 to TM1 2.0

When you say the processes that are generally slower are those that are triggering work on another Database, do you mean another tm1 service or something on a relational DB? If it’s on another tm1 service, is that on the same Server and if so is every process on that service slower? If it’s relating...

Re: PAW Error

Hi, I would recommend if possible as a starting point keeping the workspace server completely free of any other software/tools. That being said when issues arise with workspace a good starting point is to search for windowscontainernetworking-loggingandcleanupaide.ps1, Run it with the cleanup option...

Re: TM1 and Powerpoint

It depends largely on what you want to do. With workspace there is an export as PowerPoint option, so a whole book can be set up in workspace and then exported as a PowerPoint - each tab becomes a slide. Since you can also embed other webpages (non PA pages) in workspace you could theoretically crea...

Re: Budget planning model with dynamically shifting costs

Personally I have had similar requirements and my preference would be to resolve it with users inputting directly to the cube with period/year dimensions in it and utilising MDX and/or a dynamic websheet to only show them the relevant ranges for their projects. But failing that if you really need th...

Re: Basic Question - Tm1 service

This service runs all of the "standard" web services; TM1 Web, TM1 Applications and Ops Console. It was renamed to this in Planning Analytics and as your question and the previous couple of replies show it is named rather deceptively, that being said it also at one point was called TM1 Excel Service...

Workspace - What browser do you use?

Simple question to those who have been working with workspace, what browser do you use? Have you noticed performance differences between browsers? My view of it with regards to your actual question is that even though workspace ...

Re: Cube Viewer suppress zeroes hiding non-zero cells

There is a bug that one my customers currently has, I believe they are on PA 2.0.5 but not 100% as I don’t have access to install etc in their environment. The issue means that check feeders never shows “not fed” - I tested this with a simple a = b rule on a 2 dim cube. Again due to not having acces...

Re: Action button conditional navigation

Does the action button also need to run a process? And does the user need to be able to change the value in the dbrws in the source? If the answer to both questions is no, then you can use the url api to make the dbrws hyperlinks - use the excel hyperlink formula - show the value as the display name...
