IBMCognos Page Failing to Load

Guys,

When I try to access the IBM Cognos home page (Http://localhoat:80/IBMCognos) I get a page can't be displayed error.

I have checked and my virtual directories are set correctly in IIS. My content database is setup correctly. The content and IBM services are starting fine but the page still doesn't work.

I do have another instance of tomcat running for contributor but I've changed the port numbers in that to avoid conflict.

My only point of concern is that for Tomcat to work you have to set the java home as the sdk rather than jre.

Is that the problem? Any ideas?

If you any kind of detail from a log file let me know.

Thanks in advance,

Jim.

Just checking: localhoat instead of localhost is a typing error in your post or also in the original url?

It is a typo. Sorry about that. The link I'm using is correct. The weird thing is that for a brief second a cognos splash does come up before it hits the page can't be displayed error.

Very strange.

A colleague of mine found the answer:

Basically the problem is that in web extensions (on windows 2003) you need to have unknown cgi extensions enabled.
