commentary in contributor

Hi can any one please confirm if we can work on commentary with contributor.
My requirement is user want to enter a comment for each month sales and submit that comment to manager and manager has to approve it to appear in the cube. Is this requirement really possible, cuz we use approval hierarchy, but string element will not aggregate to consolidated level.

Yes you can aggregate a String in a consolidation level.

In your Measures dimension, you can create an String element. Users can then enter the comments under this string element.

I did same thing, but when ever level1 employee enters a comment and submits it, next when manager at level 0 opens the contributor he s not able to see comments as string is not consolidating and aggregating to level0.

A reviewer should be able to see detail underneath the review level. What you are saying is that you want the detail comments concatenated together into one summary cell as users hit the submit button? Cant a reviewer simply browswe through the detail to see the comments?

Yes you can aggregate a String in a consolidation level.

By definition strings don't consolidate. A string can be entered in any cell of a cube, consolidated or not. If you really wanted you could define a rule to concatenate the strings together from children of a consolidation (maybe this is what rkaif meant?) but this could be restrictive, often you may need a separate comment at a higher level.

I agree with PlanningDev, the approval manager should browse the submitted commentary from the levels below.
