Pafe/PAW View - Auto Spread at Consolidated Level

Post by chewza »

Hi there

In the cube viewer, capturing in data at a consolidated level automatically spreads the data down. Do you know if there is any way to prevent this?

Hi,

There are many options:
  1. Use CellSecurity to make consolidated cells 'READ"
  2. Use ElementSecurity to make consolidate elements 'READ" (better than point "1", because Elementsecurity is precalculated on SecurityRefresh, and CellSecurity is recalculated each time view is recalculated)
  3. Use CapabilityAssignments: https://blog.octanesolutions.com.au/wor ... ere-is-how

And if you want to keep Spreading enabled for some of the users, you should consider turning OFF this option

ProportionSpreadToZeroCells=F

By default this is turned on and in my experience this is dangerous
