Re: Cognos Planning 8.2 to 8.4 Migration
Just spotted this. Why migrate to a superseded version that (I think) is no longer supported)?
In fact, why invest time and money migrating to a newer version of a product that has been completely superseded by TM1?

Agreed, a lot of the features that you could find in Planning have been incorporated in to the later TM1 versions, so moving over should be fairly painless. I am however not sure what the cost implications will be, but you'll need to check with your IBM rep to what your options are,

Cost implications of that migration can be significant (not always though)

Given the current state of affairs with IBM I'm sure they'll give you a decent discount,

Re: Cognos Planning 8.2 to 8.4 Migration
Hi All,
Thank you for your responses . This migration is just a Temporary one . Customer doesn't want to bring any new Cognos versions.
Just want to know , Is 8.2 Cognos planning version will work on Windows 7 ?
If Yes, Can any suggest the options ?
Regards

That are a few reasons. In-house skill-set, appetite for re-modelling EP models to TM1 (don't even go down the route of the TM1 migration feature), cost
