Hi There
I'm trying our PA on a test server, and playing around with Pax.
Model and reports was originally developed with perspectives. Only hassle is that active reports written in Perspectives don’t render in Pax. Slicers work fine.
I installed tm1 server and Perspectives installed as part of it. Think this might be the problem. However, when I open plain Excel, the Perspectives add-in doesn’t show => just the Pax menu. I have tried enabling/disabling add-ons. No luck.
I'm using PA 2.0.4 and Excel 2016.
Any ideas? Many thx!!
Regards
Chris

Re: Pax & Perspectives => Active Forms not working
First off, the PAX and Perspectives add-ins cannot coexist. You have to have either one or the other loaded. It looks like the PA install program set the PAX add-in to auto load. It's simple, just stop it from auto loading in Excel. Then you can launch either PAX or Perspectves manually. As to your active form question, action buttons have to be converted to work in PAX. My suggestion is to delete them and re-create them in PAX.

Hi
Thanks for you reply. For now I don't want to launch perspectives, so opening Excel (which has PA) is good.
I don't have any action buttons in my active forms. They just return #VALUE.
Slicer reports open fine.
I took this model from my laptop, and it was all done in perspectives. Copies to a new server, and trying to open all my stuff in Pax.

Chris

Re: Pax & Perspectives => Active Forms not working
PAX isn’t monolithic but is composed of discrete components. It sounds like the sub add-in that deals with the perspectives type formulas for custom reports isn’t loaded. You need to go to the add-ins menu in Excel and make sure this component is active.
Please place all requests for help in a public thread. I will not answer PMs requesting assistance.

Yes, double check that the correct Add-ins are selected (COM addin as well).
I am running into the problem though with TM1 Perpectives active forms NOT working in PAx. I have PAx on a separate machine and when I open an active form and try to rebuild the sheet, Excel will crash. I run into similar issues where I convert an exploration view to a dynamic report, and same thing, Excel will just spike with memory until there is no more memory left on the box.
Anyone have any ideas with my issue?
I have had very mixed emotions with Pax, but as of lately, I feel like it is far too ridden with bugs.
