I swear in the terms and conditions when you sign up it states that the forum default language in English. Being your average everyday englishman that speaks only what the Queen designed me to speak I am struggling a little with your post. The only french phrase that I know from the war films is "Je me rends" which as far as I know means "I Surrender" Please correct me if I'm wrong!!

Jedox upsets the ideas of open source and settling in France
by Philippe Nieuwbourg http://www.decideo.fr

With sixty people in Germany, Jedox is a big open source editor. Sixty people, including twenty developers. Jedox because, while "open source", wants to retain control of the quality of code developed around its platform, and does not mean to trust his "community" of developers. A position which is fully understood, but which work in the world of open source community spirit which seems to be supreme, and it could attract some criticism. Another idea that Jedox does not free the entire solution. One free quite partial to Jedox, to discover the product, but should not shadow the development of the company. "We are going to change the perimeter of the open source version," says Dominique Donne, responsible for development of the French subsidiary. "All that is standard on the market will be offered free as open source, but what makes us different, our competitive advantage, will be sold." A more pragmatic approach as it is ideological, which certainly reassure customers worried sometimes ignorance of the economic model and the sustainability of an open source provider.
Palo main solution proposed by Jedox is an OLAP server that is based on the client tools known to all, Excel.
With about 150 downloads per day globally, the pre-sale is provided by the web. It was finally when the client has a problem or optimizing the use of that tool Palo Jedox contacts at the best time for the publisher to a contract to sell support. Jedox France will provide support for France and elsewhere in search of short-term five or six consultants to meet the needs of local customers. An organization that highlights one of the oddities of the open source commercial software too well done and no problem is ultimately not relevant to his publisher who lives only for the sale of support contracts ... then that some publishers would leave a few bugs
But this is not the issue. Jedox The model is based largely on direct sales. They represent Germany 80% of sales from the publisher. No partnership at this time therefore in France with major service company specializing in the making, with the exception of Smile specializing in open source with which Jedox had the opportunity to work. Another axis of development, integration into OEM. A large French publisher is also being integrated to offer customers a solution based on decisions Jedox. The announcement is expected in early 2009.
After France, the year 2009 should be followed by years of development activities in Britain and Canada. In any case, the target set by investors who have joined Kristian RAUE to help develop Jedox. Kristian RAUE which is not a "blue" of making it in 1991 established its first company software in this area, and a few years later he joined the team of MIS Alea developer, a product close to TM1 ... personality and society to follow, therefore.

PS: In 2005, Decideo already announced the release of the first version of Palo ... compared and some already in the comments TM1 Alea and Palo ...
