Job Opportunity - IBM Cognos TM1 Developer

A Large Investment Bank based in London is looking for an IBM Cognos TM1 Developer to join their Finance Technology MI Team.

The application IBM Cognos TM1 is primarily used to forecast and model ‘run-off’ for the Non-Core division of the bank.
Due to the considerable management focus on the application and increasingly demanding reporting requirements, further analysis, development and support is required from a Technology perspective to deliver ongoing change. In addition to ‘Non-Core’ requests, there is a requirement to deliver change to meet central group reporting needs.
Although the role is focused around the IBM Cognos TM1 toolset, there will be considerable exposure to the other MI technologies used within the department.

There is a strong working relationship between the user base and technology.

The Finance Technology department is responsible for all support and change related activity within the Finance business division.

- Hands-on Technical Developer required to join the MI Technology team.
- Excellent communication (written and spoken English), analytical skill set with experience of a working within a BAU/KSOR team.
- Support and ongoing development of the MI production environments.
- ‘Productionise’ the recently implemented TM1 solution, adhering to GBM Best Practices
- Provision of technical analysis, documentation and design.
- Co-ordination of issue diagnosis and resolution.
- Analyse business requests, working with both the business and technology to provide a strategic solution.
- Work with business support and technical experts as required to deliver work to time and budget.
- Develop front to back knowledge of MI application environment
- Able to deliver and fully document a high standard of work.
- Escalate as appropriate to team lead/programme manager.
- Immediate start required.

Essential Experience: (Must have skills)

- Experience of OLAP multi-dimensional data models – IBM Cognos TM1
- Management Reporting concepts (Balance Sheet, P&L, Costs, Budgeting, Forecasting).
- Windows Scripting (vbs/wsh), Perl, shell scripting
- Source control concepts (VSS\SVN\WinCVS)
- Experience of working with large integrated systems within corporate organisations.
- Experience implementing \Supporting TM1 in a large corporate environment.

Supplementary Experience: (Useful additional skills)
• Database experience (Oracle 9i/10g/11g)
• PL/SQL, SQL
• Investment Banking knowledge
