IBM COGNOS TM1 - FINANCIAL SYSTEMS MANAGER FOR APAC

This is a fantastic new opportunity based in Hong Kong for a "Global Brand"

Job Purpose:

· Lead the project team in the implementation, training, and maintenance of all regional financial reporting tools.


· Oversee and coordinate the administration of the tools that will be implemented in the GC and APAC regions to budget, consolidate and report financial, divisional, and HR data. Responsible for the maintenance and day-to-day operation of all financial systems applications.

Key Responsibilities:

· Manage projects from start to finish. Collect and analyze business requirements from stakeholders and lead the design process. Create project timelines and coordinate the implementation activities of the system analysts and consultants for successful training and overall project delivery.

· Direct the financial systems processes for all reporting cycles and oversee coordination of the submissions/load process for all Asian legal entities and end-users.


· Provide guidance for smooth on-going technical assistance. Manage team to effectively change/maintain data collection templates, metadata structure, maintain user security, load data, and create reports. Implement changes as needed following documented testing and approval procedures.

· Develop TM1 competencies within the Chanel organization. Provide assistance/guidance to finance teams in other regions who use TM1.

· Liaise with the IT team to ensure the appropriate technical infrastructure, optimized system performance, and ensuring appropriate backup and support procedures.

· Participate in special projects, as required.

Person Specifications:

Academic / Professional Qualifications

· BS or BA required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems. MBA or CPA a plus.


· Financial software certification a plus, particularly in Essbase, Planning, HFM, and/or TM1.

Work Experience

· Min. 10 years experience in systems implementations/administration and/or financial controlling.

Required Competencies


· Ability to manage projects on time and within budget.

· Exceptional team management and leadership skills.

· Strong knowledge of financial budgeting, consolidation, and reporting software. Solid understanding of accounting and business processes.

· Solid technical and analytical skills are required to troubleshoot consolidation and/or reporting issues. Full understanding of system logic/processes is required to independently resolve problems.

· Creative thinking is required to make recommendations for system design, optimizing performance, and ensuring data integrity. New business requirements must be analyzed to understand impact on the overall systems landscape.

· Strong communication skills with multiple levels of management and other stakeholders. Ability to write clear, concise reports and correspondence.

· Organized, detail-oriented, and excellent team player. Highly motivated, and proactive. Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.

· High proficiency in PC skills, particularly MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and MS Project.
