SaveTime while running TM1 as a service

Post by Aerouge »

Hello everybody,

we are currently considering switching our TM1 servers to run as a service.

Only problem we have encountered so far is this litle sentence from the IBM Operation Guide
TM1 Operation Guide 9.5.2 wrote: The SaveTime parameter is not available when running the TM1® server as a Windows® service.
Currently we utilize the SaveTime parameter to save the TM1 Cubes to harddisk and afterwards zip em and move them to our SAN for backup purposes. Switching the TM1 Cubes to run as a service would be beneficial, but we´d like to figure out how to backup them properly afterwards before we switch.

Maybe the solution for this is too obvious for us to figure out( ), but it would be great if IBM would place a litle link in their Operation Guide on how to achive the same thing the SaveTime parameter does WHEN running the TM1 server as a Windows service.

So without further ado, how do you save TM1 cubes when running them as a service?

Thanks in Advance,
Aerouge

SaveDataAll in the prolog of a process, and then run it in a chore.
