10.2 TM1 Top

Post by bplaia »

Hey guys,
I've gone ahead and installed the new 10.2 version off the IBM download site onto my 64-bit Windows 7 machine. I ran the 64-bit installer, it completed as expected, TM1 runs normally as i can create servers, cubes, dimensions, processes, etc. however I do not seem to have TM1 Top anywhere in this installation. The documentation states that it should be in the install directory's bin folder, but I can't find it to save my life. Any one else having this experience, or better yet, are you guys able to find and run TM1 Top from 10.2 at all?

Thanks in advance,
Brian

Did you select it as a component when installing? I haven't installed 10.2 yet so I don't know if it is an option. Check by modifying the installation to see if it is there,

I installed all components from the 64-bit package onto a Windows Server 2008 R2 box and I can't find tm1top.exe either. It's nowhere to be found. Oh well, can't say I'm surprised they botched/missed something.

Uninstalled, re-downloaded a fresh copy of the install files, and re-installed...still nothing. Also, not that it should matter because the 64-bit version supposedly includes the 32-bit version components as well, but I tried installing the 32-bit TM1 Tools component, and this did not introduce TM1 Top to my machine either.

qml, i hate to say it, but I'm glad to see it's not just my machine/issue

Hi guys,

I saw somewhere that TM1Top is no longer available in 10.2.

I've lifted tm1top.exe from a 952 install, dropped it into the bin64 folder in a 10.2 install, configured the shortcut and it comes up fine. Haven't tested the thread cancellation functionality as yet.

As David said, dropping TM1Top from a different installation version into the bin64 folder worked fine, just be sure to include the tm1top.ini file (of course). Thread cancellation and admin verification appear to be working normally on 10.2 servers.

Well, officially it is not supported, but, has it ever been?
An educated guess: It was labeled out-dated to promote Operations Console, which is quite nice.
Why TM1? Because ...with great dimensionality there must also come -- great responsibility!
