"15","E15) Server unable to listen on port

Post by ikovan »

Hi everybody,

i have very strange problem when starting tm1 server "SOO" on unix.

I have TM1 9.5.2. server installed on sever. I have approx. 7 tm1 servers registered on this sever (tm1 admin host) and running well.
Only this server "SOO" make me crazy. tm1s.cfg is setup on port 11446. Server was already going on this port, but it suddenly crashed.

I need to run this server again, but i will obtain this stupid message "15","E15) Server unable to listen on port.
But when i check netstat -a or similar I can see port 11446 listening.

How to solved that? Only thing which works is reboot unix server :o)

Thank you

Probably a dumb question, but have you confirmed that the processes (both tm1s.exe and the shared memory reader) are actually dead?

An 'lsof -i:11446' may also yield useful information.

What Unix are you running?

Hi,

Yes I did. We are running on Redhat 5 64bit. lsof is not available functionality but there si other oportunities how to check if port is "free"
I have still some suspicion the problem is TM1. I think TM1 some way still have information about port and maybe internally this port is occupied.
Very strange.

Can you try it with some other port? That way you would be able to distinguish if its a TM1 problem or some issue with the port itself.
