9.4 MR1 Admin server ssl error

Hi there,

I recently installed 9.4 MR1 on a test machine and am having problems with the admin server. Both the admin server and a server are set as services to start automatically. The admin server starts and then the server starts. When I attempt to connect through perspectives I get the error msg "Cannot connect to TM1 Admin Server". If I then go to the options and specify a local server (pdata) and click ok, the local server starts, and shortly after the server set as a service registers itself with the admin server. It seems almost like the admin server isnt correctly initialising until the local server starts up.

The admin server log shows the following:

1544 INFO 2009-02-23 03:02:38,249 TM1.Comm.SSL SSL error in accept
3136 INFO 2009-02-23 03:03:14,041 TM1.Comm.SSL SSL read error. SSL Error: 5
3944 INFO 2009-02-23 03:04:26,156 TM1.Comm.SSL SSL error in accept

I also noticed that when the local server starts up it seems to define a lot of the settings that can be in the admin server config file, such as: admin server cert auth, cert id etc. I also couldn't find the config file for pdata, and so am wondering where the settings are called from? I'm sure I'm missing something obvious as i'm new to TM1, but have used similar tools in the past. Thanks in advance.

There was an SSL certificate issue with 9.1. May be this issue has reared it's head in 9.4. Have you contacted Cognos support to find out if this is the and if they can send you a new certificate,
