TM1 10.1 - Trace Calculation behaviour
Afternoon all
I am doing some parallel testing of TM1 version 10.1 against 9.4 (both 64bit)
I have found some calculation differences, and fully expected them to be down to the volumes of data that I am working through, but I have stumbled upon something odd
When I try to right-click on a calculated value in my view in 10.1 the "Trace Calculation" and "Check Feeders" options are greyed out - but both are present in 9.4. The views I am checking are identical, and the calculated values are not consolidated in any way. I have done the same check on multiple views - all with the same result. The even weirder behaviour is that the options aren't greyed out when the calculated value is zero!
I can see why the rules aren't working - feeders are coming through I think - but I can't check. I have got PersistentFeeders set to F (as well as ParallelInteraction) so as to mirror the 9.4 environment as best as I could for now
Anyone any ideas ?
Thanks

Anthony,
Seems you have found a possible bug... can you not Trace calcs on any rule driven cell?
My Trace Calcs and Check Feeders have worked exactly as expected thus far.

Re: TM1 10.1 - Trace Calculation behaviour
It probably won't be this but when you have multiple cells selected in the cube viewer you can't trace calcs etc. It is not always obvious that you have multiple cells selected.
Might be worth checking?
Cheers

Re: TM1 10.1 - Trace Calculation behaviour
Thanks for the replies
I've double / triple ( and all the other 'le's' ) checked that I am only tracing from one cell.
The "feature" seems to work on some calculated results that are zeros, but not all - and I have tried different dimension combinations within the same cube, different cubes, and different clients reading the same 10.1 database
Such fun
*** UPDATE ***
I can select Trace Calculation on a consolidated level, and then drill back down to a leaf level, without problem - ODD

Re: TM1 10.1 - Trace Calculation behaviour
Hi Sander
I haven't had the chance to yet
I still have the same problem and although I can work around the Trace Calculation problem by going in at a consolidated level, I can't do that with the Check Feeders option
I will see if I can log it next week, when I get back to the office
Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone

+ 1 for seeing this in the wild.
Thanks for pointing out the trace and drill work around.

This morning I got an answer from IBM support;
'Hi, The issue has been accepted as a defect and has been targeted at a future release......the APAR number for this defect is PM63037.... You should be able to view this on the web in the next few days.'

Re: TM1 10.1 - Trace Calculation behaviour
Hi all,
I would like to know if this issue has been resolved. I have installed TM1 10.1 FP1 but I still cannot trace calculation (and check feeders) for those N Level cell
Regards
Andre

Same here. First hotfix did not address the issue either.

Re: TM1 10.1 - Trace Calculation behaviour
What i realized is that while I did not create the feeder of the calculation the options "Trace Calculation" and "Check Feeders" are available.
When the feeder is set up these options are grayed out.
