Heya,
We are just getting started with TM1 (Cognos partner) and I'm the individual doing the installation. I've been scanning the documentation but haven't seen the specifics on a distributed installation. Here's what we are thinking:
App server - Win64 - load TM1 server and Admin server
Web/gateway server - Win32 - TM1 Web, Excel
Terminal server - client installs, excel
Obviously I've made some assumptions here:
- engine can be win64 with win32 frontends
- may have missed a component or two, but generally thinking all non-Admin/non-Server items (like Web) go the web/gateway
Does this look like it would work or is it a train wreck waiting to happen? If it's the latter, is anyone interested in buying a front-row seat? Will supply popcorn with every purchase.
Thanks,
- Dave

Re: TM1 n00b question - installation
Hi Dave,
This is a regular setup, so this should work.
Shame about missing the train wreck though..

Michel,
Thanks for the response. Don't worry about missing the train wreck: I'm quite skilled at creating self-inflicted wounds, so there will be plenty of additional opportunities <g>
As a follow-up question for the install:
No server pre-reqs for Server or Admin? I know the .net framework stuff for other items, but I didn't see that I needed anything other than the TM1 installs for the app server.

Re: TM1 n00b question - installation
the webserver will require Excel loaded on it too
If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator.
