TM1 9.5.1 Issues (PM10715 unfixed?)

Post by dubs »

Hi All,

We are experiencing an issue with TM1 9.5.

We have many complex excel spreadsheets set up in TM1 and they are protected using the excel 'Protect Worksheet' option to stop our end users changing the underlying logic. This has worked under 9.4 and provide an unobtrusive way of locking the sheets down.

In TM1 9.5 whenever we access one of these protected sheets it brings up the 'Unprotect Worksheet' dialog box and prompts us for a password. This shouldn't happen because the dialog should only appear when requested by the end-user via the menu option. It also comes up repeatedly, you click 'cancel' and it comes up again, sometimes looping 5 times before it eventually allows you to access the spreadsheet. It also reappears when you enter the valid Unprotect password so it is definitely not behaving as it should.

Our spreadsheets can be either active forms or cube slices and may or may not contain additional VBA. However they are formed they encounter this issue if the worksheet is protected.

Looking at the RP1 Fixlist for TM1 9.5.1

There is a mention of a similar, or very closely related, issue which still occurs in TM1 9.5.1:

PM10715 Password protected worksheet prompt for password by refresh with F9

Does anyone else have issues with worksheet protection in 9.5 and does anyone have any workarounds? We will probably have to roll back to 9.4 to keep our existing functionality if we can't work out a way to suppress the prompt but would like to know if we can get round it whilst still keeping our spreadsheets protected.

Cheers
