Reading data from SQL Server

Post by manueljg »

Hi, I'm new to TM1 (coworker quit this morning) and I need to get some data out of TM1 and into my SQL server Database. What is the best way to do that?

Also, I would like to ask your advice on what should I be reading... Thanks

Hi manueljg -

Your question is a little confusing as the title of the post says 'reading data from' but from your post it sounds like you actually want to export from TM1 to SQL Server.

Either way, TM1 has Turbo Integrator as an ETL tool for both these tasks. Loads and exports and other functions are called 'processes'. It wouldn't be possible to describe in detail these operations in a reply here. The most comprehensive information on constructing these processes is contained in the documentation that hopefully lives on your server that TM1 is installed on.

If you have version 9 installed the file you are looking for is called the operations guide. If you have version 8 or below it is called the administration guide.
