MDX Studio

Post by Renaud MARTIAL »

Hello,

does any of you succeeded in using Mosha Pasumansky's 'MDX Studio' to query a TM1 database ?
It's OK with the ODBO sample application, but I can't find any working connection string for MDX Studio.

click >Here< if you want to have a look.

Regards,

Renaud.

Hi Renaud,

I just tried it and no luck for me, either - I'm not sure if MDX Studio has been limited to only support SQL Server 2005 or higher (some posts on its forum seemed to indicate that).

Anyway, I posted a question on their forum and will let you know what I hear back from them.

Mike

MDX Studio only supports SSAS, and it has quite a lot of SSAS specific code in it, so it won't work with other MDX servers such as TM1.
(Besides it connects through ADOMD.NET, not through OLEDB for OLAP)

Mosha,

Thanks very much for the reply here. I had a feeling this was the case, but it's good to have confirmation from the source. I look forward to using MDX Studio with Analysis Services in any event... (and will post a note about it in that forum, while I think of it).

Regards,
Mike
