Message log not updating in Architect

Hi
We are facing a weird issue in Architect/Perspectives, 10.2.2 FP4: the message log is not updating. tm1server.log is fine, entries are there, it is just the message log window which is not updated.
It always stops at an entry during the previous server restart, but not always on the same entry. So when we restart the database, the lines are updated, but not until the end of the restart; then no messages display that would show events after the restart, i.e. error messages from TIs, etc.
The log file is small, less than 5 Mb.
Any idea how to solve this?
