Feeding a C Level Calculation

Post by jv_oz »

Hi all,

We have a C level calculation in play where it is quite likely that none of the children of the calculation will have a value, and are therefore not forcing the consolidation to take place. We will have a ConsolidateChildren inserted, but that still does not feed upwards. Can anyone please recommend a method of feeding this situation?

Thanks

John

I think you will still need to feed at least one N: component of the C: item, even if none of the components will hold values

Thanks @mvaspal. So is what you are saying that we need to have something feeding at least one of the N level elements, even if there is no value on any of those elements? So in the example below to feed something to either N1 or N2:

C: C level calculation of, say, 10
N1: 0
N2: 0

I'm not 100% sure but I think you have to have a non-zero value under the C, either as the result of a rule and a feeder or a value.

For me your design is off, why not just have an N level rule?

Quite easy to test though, I am also not 100% sure that if all N: items have a 0 value under a C:, but at least one of them are fed, then the C: won't be suppressed when using 0 suppression
