Client Perspective Unable To Connect to TM1 10.2.2 FX7

Post by hadzri712 »

Hi,

My server using TM1 10.2.2 and just being upgrade to 10.2.2.7(fix pack 7). Upon completed installation, all client connection from perspective and architecture unable to connect to the tm1 server. Client tm1 still using lower version which is tm1 10.2.2(basic) and also some of it 10.2.1.

Kindly need advice as stated in IBM website, fix pack 7 should support connection to client 10.2.2(basic) package.

If I had to bet, it's likely to be an SSL issue since FP7 includes ones that don't expire 5 minutes after installation.

You can fluff around trying to find the right match for the clients but the easiest solution is to upgrade your clients to FP7 as well. Although TM1 does support cross-version compatibility it is NOT a good idea to leave the clients to lag behind the server if you can avoid it.

Also, though it's spilt milk in this case... before you do a production server upgrade it's usually prudent to test that clients can connect to it in a development environment.

Hi Alan,

Thank for your feedback. I also done the SSL part where I update both server and client side. Eventually, is still not working.

Once I try my PC to upgrade to FX7, then I only can connect to tm1 server with FX7 and also tm1 server that contain lower version.

If you have any confirmation from IBM regarding this, appreciate to share with me.

Could be down to TLS protocol being implemented in 10.2.2 FP6-have you updated your TM1S.CFG to support older clients?

Code: Select all

SupportPreTLSv12Clients=T

Did you previously update the certificate by running the script provided by IBM or by changing the certificate in the SSL folder?

I've had issues in the past with connecting old clients to new servers and follow Alan's suggestion to upgrade the whole estate where possible

Hi Gtonkin,

Yes, it was due to TLS. Derive from this, I have made contact with IBM and they suggest the same thing.

**IBM TechNote 7048181 (http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27048181).

Problem solve.
