Display Alias in Members drop down for PAW and PAX

Post by BigG »

hi, with the Task Pane in PAX and PAW you can drill down on a dimension Sets, levels and members

Does anyone know how to use an Alias as a default for this function, standard behaviour is to display the element name(code)?

Cheers

Are you talking about the content tree? If so by default it will display the caption alias (which falls back to invariant name if not defined). There is currently no way to configure it to use another alias. You could create a rule on the attributes cube so your alias can be displayed via the Caption attribute.

OK I see the tree is called "Task Pane" in PAX. In PAW we refer to it as the "Content Tree".

TM1 now supports localized aliases on many objects including cubes, dimensions, hierarchies, views, sets, TI processes......

Best practice is to use the localized Caption alias as PAW will automatically use that.

great - using caption alias works, thanks for this

But, you cannot select element names in the set editor eg. 'No Alias' displays the caption
