TM1 Cafe and Different Environments

Post by tomsugden »

TM1 Version 10.2.2 FP5
Excel 2016

Has anyone found a way to create a report in Café in one environment (say Development) and then amend the same report to open in another environment (say PreProd)? No matter what I do, the report reverts back to the environment in which it was created, even if I delete the connection to that environment. I know there are some hidden rows at the top of the Café report that include the environment, but it doesn't appear to be as simple as just changing the name 'System' cell to the new environment.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Tom,

Are you changing an exploration, flex view or formula based report?

Have you selected "Show system and package information in crosstab or list sheet" in the options? Have you tried double clicking this cell as opposed to overwriting with the new servername?

I'm working from 10.3 so it may differ

Hi Ed,

Thanks for that, seems to have done the trick. I can at least now see the 'Show system and package information in crosstab or list sheet' cell changing, and by double clicking am able to switch environments. Many thanks.

Cheers

Hi Tom,

One more dirty but more effective way when you have complex FLEX reports:
  1. Rename excel file to *.zip
  2. Unzip all content to a temp folder
  3. Make a massive Search/Replace for all folder with new/old server parameters (you can do it in notepad++)
  4. Zip it back and restore original name
