TM1 Perspectives - Cannot view transaction log

Post by winshent »

Hi guys

From TM1 perspectives I cannot open the transaction log filter screen when right clicking on an instance, or selecting from the Server menu.

The "View Transaction Log.." option is enabled via both methods..

Any idea how i can get this working ?

Hi Winshent,

Are you getting any error message when you click on View Transaction Log?
What is happening when you are trying from Architect?

Have you tried using [Windows Key] + [Left Arrow] after selecting the option in case the dialog is appearing somewhere off screen? (This may or may not be the cause, but notebooks which are regularly hooked into different monitors and different resolutions sometimes have a problem with the last "remembered" window location being somewhere way off screen. Windows + Arrow brings it in to the current location.) I don't think that the transaction log dialog remembers its last location, but it's worth a shot. (Also it assumes that you haven't disabled Areo Snap; disabling that disables those keys as well.)

I can remember there was a msmask32.ocx issue in earlier versions from time to time. Sometimes it came back with an error and sometimes it simply did nothing, similar to what you describe now. I have seen that on client machines as well as on Server 2008, which is mentioned in attached Technote.
I even saw different versions on clients which should have the same setup, where copying this file from a working machine and re-register helped to get it to work again.
