Hello,

I am encountering the following performance issues on 9.4 MR1. When you open a cube view on the tm1 server it opens up straight away, while when you open the view via a Network(LAN) and not a WAN it takes a while for the cube to open. I am not talking about opening a default view, but just opening up the actual cube viewer.

I took the Sdata data as a testbed and opened the SalesPriorCube cube. It took roughly 4-5 seconds to open up on a LAN, while on the server it opens up straight away. I have notice the more dimensions in the cube the longer it takes to open up the view over the LAN scenario.

The problem is the same on either 32bit or 64bit servers.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Not particularly helpful for you, but Cognos just gave me 9.1.4 HF5 which solved that problem for 9.1. I'd contact them and see if a HF exists for 9.4.

Cognos reply:

The Engineer who sorted out the problem in 9.1 for poor performances in opening up a cube over in a WAN in 9.1 said that in early March there will be upgrade for 9.4 MR1 FP1. There is a good possibility that it will solve the issue of opening a cube up over a LAN.

FYI - the Hotfix to resolve this is under TM1 9.4 MR1 is available.
