BI Hierarchy Refresh

Post by jim wood »

Guys,

I am no BI expert. In TM1 we have been asked to remove a level from the hierarchy as follows:

Old
  • Total
    Department
    Facility
    Program
    Project
New
  • Total
    Department
    Facility
    Project
I have update the hierarchy control cube to remove the Program level. In the current TM1 BI reports that we have the number of levels has updated but instead of dropping the program it has left program in place and dropped the Total. What is displayed however works as when you select Department you in fact get Total. Is there any way to stop this from happening?

In workspace advanced it is displaying incorrectly as well,

Jim.

Haven't seen it happen specifically like this but just to check, have you performed the mdx hierarchy refresh function in TI?

No I haven't. Well you learn something new every day. I'll run it and let you know if that fixes the problem,

Jim.

Looks like that did the trick thank you Declan. It's always good to learn something new. The next challenge at my age is to remember it!! :D

No worries, if you haven't done it before it can be hard to think of the correct terms to search for in the user guides. A server restart also does the same job and I did a project a little while ago at a company that has a scheduled restart every night just in case anything like that had changed.
